Grand Knight’s Report Worthy Council Members and Families, We’re now 4 months into this Covid situation and there’s still a lot of uncertainty about when we’ll pull out of this. As I look at everything going on in this community and world, the one thing that stands out to me is there’s a whole lot of “me” and not enough about “us”. Like it or not, we’re all in this together and by working together, that’s what it’s going to take to not only adapt to this new normal, but also to get out of this and move forward. To that end, thanks in large part to Brother Carl Fies, we’ll soon be launching a new way to help bring together us Knights and help improve our communication. We’ve reviewed the entire list of membership and have grouped members by area and assigned everyone to a zone. Each zone will have a captain who will help reach out to members and help create a two-way communication path between members and our council leadership. In the next few weeks, your zone captain will be reaching out to you to check-up on our brother Knights and ensure everyone is doing ok and to solicit ideas on things we need to do as we continue. We are continuing to meet on our normal schedule of the 2 nd and 4 th Wednesdays of the month via the application “GoToMeeting” and I encourage everyone to attend. While not perfect, at the very least, it creates a way for us to keep in touch in a safe manner. See the article on the virtual Council meetings for information on how to connect. The most important thing that we need to do during this period is to maintain our Faith. As Masses start to come back, I encourage all of you to try to attend and celebrate our faith as a community. Confessions are also back and the last email I sent contained information on the procedure. And if you still don’t feel comfortable going out, or the Mass is “full” the online options are still there. Whether it’s the Christ the King broadcasts or something on Formed or EWTN, there are plenty of options. As the faith leaders in our family, it’s our obligation to continue to lead in that regard, even if it’s just remembering to give thanks to God before every meal. Thanks to all our brothers who have stepped up to help during this time! Vivat Jesus, Carl Sarrazolla, Grand Knight VOL. 71 JULY 2020 NO.1 Richland Council # 3307 KNIGHT WATCH Be a Knight... Grand Knight’s ReportWorthy Council Members and Families,

We’re now 4 months into this Covid situation and there’s still a lot of uncertainty about when we’ll pull out of this.

We are continuing to meet on our normal schedule of the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month via the application “GoToMeeting” and I encourage everyone to attend.

Prayer Options and Christ the King UpdateWhile this whole virus situation has turned things upside down, we can’t let it get in the way of our prayer and worship. As the men in our families, now is the time to step up and be the faith leaders we are meant to be. To help you with ideas, here are some resources:

• Christ the King Parish Information

- Mass Schedule: Saturday Vigil Mass at 6:00 p.m. and now two on Sunday, 8:00 a.m. and 9:15 a.m., outside in the upper parking lot on Stevens Drive. Attendance is limited to 100 people per Mass; those who attend MUST wear a mask the whole time, maintain a distance of 6 feet from others, and bring their own chairs.

You must register to attend these Masses, each time. Here’s the link to sign up:

https://www.eventbrite.com/o/christ-the-king-parish-30417877024

While seating will be physically distant, and we won’t be singing or shaking hands, attendance may pose a serious health risk. It’s perfectly fine to continue to watch the live-stream Masses.

- The parish will continue live-streaming daily Mass at 8 am Monday - Friday*

- There will be 2 weekend Masses live-streamed on Saturday evening: 5 pm in English and 6 pm in Spanish - they will be available to watch on Sunday as well*

- There will be a live-stream of Holy Hour from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm Monday-Friday. Father Edgar Quiroga will offer brief meditations throughout the week*

* Please keep an eye on our Youtube Channel (link below) as the future live-streamed Masses will be queued up for you to set a reminder

- All of these resources will be available on the Christ the King Adult Religious Education channel on Youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWYLtrNaJO2CuwdxYVbEJMw

- Please monitor the CK Parish website regularly for changes, updates, and information:

http://www.ckparish.org/content/142.htm

• EWTN: this is available via some cable/satellite services as well as streaming via the internet. If you have a Roku or Google Chrome device there is also an EWTN app you can add. They offer daily Mass as well as the rosary and other content.

• Formed: This is available via the internet, a Smart Phone app and also as an app on Roku devices. Lots of good spiritual and study resources. Link to Formed:

• Spiritual Communion Prayer My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, Come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

• Parish Donations - For those of you who are not impacted financially, just because there are no Masses, don't forget your weekly donations. Give online for your convenience at

Above all else, keep your prayers coming. If anything is missing or you have questions, please don't hesitate to let me know at

[email protected] or by phone at (208) 995-4957

I do still have my day job and spend lots of time on conference calls these days, so if I don't answer my phone, please leave a message.
