Hi from Nat’l. Chevy, As I write this it is Dec. 10 and very cold. Overnight the temp was about 8° below zero and should be the same tonight. Our high yesterday was 0°, today 3°. Last week we had snow – 3-4” at the shop, about a foot at home and further north in Minnesota about 42”. I’m sure glad we didn’t get that much. Last weekend Paul and I drove down to Kansas City for the Mecum Car Auction. We were watching TV the week before and Paul saw an ad for the auction and asked me if I had made arrangements yet. I informed him that it would have been nice of him to let me know that he wanted to go. I guess he just thought that because we went the year before I would know he wanted to go again. We enjoyed the auction but all they had in our cars were a couple of 1950-52 hardtops. There were many beautiful cars there but none were purchased by us, not that there weren’t a couple I wouldn’t mind owning. We left Kansas City Sunday morn-ing with snow coming down. It kept snowing the whole 350 miles we drove before deciding to stop as the snow was getting worse. Next month I have a small article about the Napoleanic Carriage that appears on the Body by Fischer tag. You probably never paid much attention to it but it appears to be very interesting. It was given to us by Bill Dirnberger (the VCCA 1949-54 Chev authority) and we appreciate it. I NEED cars for the newsletter. Every month I seem to get one but I could use lots more. It really doesn’t take much time to write a nice article about your car and I would really appreciate your help. Time to go – Hope you all have a Happy New Year. ‘Til next time...... P.S. The catalog is almost done

Hello National Chevy, I hope you enjoy the pictures of my 1952 Chevy Hardtop. It was originally beige with brown top. The paint is now Chrysler 300 Vanilla Ice with red and cream interior. It has a1963 235 engine with 1952 original powerglide, rear end, brakes, front end and fender skirts. Added Fenton duel intake, two one-barrel carbs, duel exhaust and 12 volt wire harness. My first big show was in the fall of 2012, at

the NSRA North, Kalamazoo, MI. My original radiator (tested) sprung an unrepairable leak less than a week away. “National Chevy saved the day!” I received a new radiator in time for the show.

Thanks,Rich HutchinsPaw Paw, MI

__________________________________Cover Car I’ve been a member for a year and very much like your newsletter each month. I would like to submit pictures of my 1949 Chev Fleetline. It was advertised in HMN and purchased in North Dakota with 49,360 miles. A body-off restoration which wasn’t bad. The undercarriage was very good. After all the body work was done we updated the running gear to a S10 rear end. The front end was redone with Fatman parts, power steering, disc brakes, ‘56 Corvette wire wheels and 225-60R15 whitewall tires. The old 216 engine was replaced with a 1952 GMC 302 and bored 60 over to 320 ci with an Aries 12 port head with comp roller, cam, lifters and roller rockers. Hand-built headers 3 + 3 coated 2 1/2” pipes. It has flow thru mufflers, a custom-built intake with 3 Holley 350 cc carbs. It makes 310 hp on Dyno

foot power of torque. Also has 700R4 transmission. The interior was redone stock but I’ve added a new water and oil gauge, tach, turn signals and a Banjo wheel. The exterior has had all the chrome redone, and is painted Chrysler red. I’ve also added all gingerbread 3rd taillight, blue dot rear tail lights. It’s nosed and decked with all original glass. I’m 77 years old, not in good health and would like someone to enjoy it. I was going to shows when I could, have 12 trophies and had a lot of fun but it’s time to move on. It’s for sale if you could mention it.

Yours trulyWilliam BowenOH
