Thl> Senior Class of 1949 see that the doors of old F. H. S. are slowly closing behind. "t c are beginning to realize that many of the things we have taken for granted are the result of careful planning and .unselfish work of our parents, the school board and our many teachers whose pat1ence we have often tried, we shall remember through the years their contribution in the development of our education.

This clas;; of 1949 ha!'; ideals and hopes which I am sure they will all attain. They have passeu over obstacles and hardships in their way and are now considered prcpnreu for a journ<>y on which they will seek their future, whatever it may be.

Sophomore Year

We started our secon(l )'Car of high scluol with deven students. ~\s you 1 cmcmber we lost many classmates. Carole Didier. Jack Rim:m p and .J o Ann V cltri still remain class officers this year. Our candidates for annual King and Queen were Virg·i l Albertini and .Jo .\ nn Y cltri. Carole Didier was chosen as basketball qu0en candidate. The class shone by h<wing Ro~emarie Kritzer chosen as cheerleader.

A party given by our sponsor, ~r rs. Han .I, turned out t o be quite a gala affair. Ah! sweet vittles, that wa~ the night we ate so much. For that different story the girls sen~d the .Jr.-Sr. Banquet with the boys cooking an<l di shing up the food (naturally with the help of tlw g-i rls) hut they proved quite handy in the kitchen. The boys I mean. Our experience of this year ha\' e us well qualified for junior responsihiL ties.

Junior Year

Even though, we lost two of our member3 we gained two, .Joanne Anluino and Bob Ross. Our class was le3d hy four rPsponsible members: President, Carole Didier ; Vice President, .Jack Simone; Secretary, Rosemarie Kritzer; Treasurer, Rose ~laric Gerard. \Ve ('hose .Joanne Arduino as our Football Queen Candidate and Rosemarie Kritzer and Jack Simone as our annual contestants. Our sponsor, ~Irs. Hart, gave us quite a surpris(', a .Junior Snf'ak Day. 'Ve traveled to Roaring River and ~oel, ~Io . \Ye planned the .Jr.-Sr. Banquet this y('ar, the first object was to raise some money for such an occasion. \Ye did this hy presenting our play, "CRACKED NUTTS." ~luch to our surprise, it and the banquet went OY('r with a hang!

Senior Year

Finally, the small but mighty class of F'. H. K has become seniors. This year the big responsibility of be in~ Senior Class President was filled by .Jack Simone; his helpers were Joanne Arduino, Vice-President; Rosemarie K1 itzer, Treasurer; Phil Saia, S('cretary. Our achievements were many; Joanne Veltri was chosen senior cheerleader. Just to show you what a small class can do, we took a large margin in the annual sales and as a reward our cancl:dates, Queen Raiderettf', Rosemarie Kritzer and King Raider Virgil Albertini wen• crowned at the Christmas Coronation, December 20. Say, Kids, remember the party our sponsor, Miss Monahan, gave us, especially the cherry pie!!! How could we forget1 Our annual staff, with the effort of the entire class headed by Editor Joanne Arduino assembled all our school day memories so when old and gray we may look back on the good times we had at good F. H. S. We relaxed after the annual was s \.'nt to press by having a spaghetti dinner at Mrs. Hand's, our annual sponsor.

The last two months were spent planning and working on plays, sneak day, parties, usic contest , Bacea.laureate, all-school picnic, and finally graduation. The day of parting

our frieDds, teaeher and all our memoriee of our Alma Mater, was a mad eramble for uci leu.r bo Web -.de up the Dior Class of '4:9.

Class Wzif \\r e the Senior Class of '4H, being- sound, both mentally and physically, do hereby be

queath our various talents, school positions, and good times to the future Seniors of Frontenac High School.

The Gold Hn:-;h of 18-!0 is notlli11g- to compare with the rush of 1D49, when· we trample out into the world of opportunity. Ten years later, in 1959, we find on "B1 ifth An'nne in Xcw York, in hright lights '' Gl..,.STA"B1l~HON' DITT ~~ANN" singing in )fetropolitan Opera, and his ~ecretary l\li~s Glo:·ia Cahodie keeping hus~' "·ith all the work he piles upon her sma1l shouldc1 s. Along in the scram~- J e Gloria has lo~·t her old clasRmate, Rosemary Papish, who 1s happily m<:uriPd and liYing in that dairy eountry of \Yi sconsin.

Someone seem~ to be <listurbing the p0ace in the 3rd row. You might know Carole Didier, who i::-; rumaging all oYer the floor looking :or her shoes. She is n'porter on the Xew York .Journal working her way toward heing editor.

X ow who is that distinguished looking lady out in the audience~ It coul<ln 't he, but it is the grt>at stylist from Paris, Rosemarie Kritzer. She seems to be doing· great theRe days.

Look at that young gentleman slowly shuffling up the aisle. I can't make out who he IS. Oh! X ow I Se(', it is our old friend Virgil Albertini. He's coach at Notr<? Dame this year.

\\no <lid that n! I do declare, .J o Ann Veltri up to her old tricks again-of whistling at the men and guess whaU!! She's married!!

\\l1y I Swan, no Duz does everything, Professor Phillip Saia from Pittsburg Teachers College. He seems to be doing alright teaching in the Home Economics Department.

You n1ight know with all her blushing and shyness Rose Marie Gerard has finally reached the big time. She is doing a special number "'"fhe Burlesque Cutie".

\Vho is the ~IAN in the fourth row in that Oklahoma sweater with stripes clear down to his wristT \\Thy, it's none other than the coach of the Aggies, Jack Simone.

\Yell what do you know, there's .Joanne Arduino. She is purchasing agent for ~facy's and is doing quite an enormous job. Good to see you kid.

Yy it's time to go and I have seen hardly any of the show, but I think all of my old classmates have done exceptionally well. I a in mighty proud to be considered one.

Bye-Be Good
