For Colby, school was mainly to see his friends. Colby’s goal in life was to take over the family operation, just like his papa and dad. He loved to help people whenever he could. Colby was best known for his big smile and his ocean-blue eyes. As Ms. Holmes said, “His smile and eyes could warm your heart, even on a frigid day.” Colby was my protector, my #1 supporter, the person I would always go to, my best friend and my favorite cousin, the person who did things with me even if he didn’t want to, the person who taught me everything and he did many other things for me. I love you buddy forever and ever. Colby will forever be in our hearts. Rest easy Colby! Fly high! Written by Aleta Deuso.

Xbox vs Playstation!By Leah Gervais

This week I took a risk knowing the

backlash I’d get and decided to end the battle

of Xbox vs Playstation! Once again I took it

to the school with a poll. Xbox won with 25

people voting Xbox while only 18 people voted

for Playstation. I asked them why and I got

answers like “better graphics, does not

overheat as quick,“ and “comfortable

controllers.” But of course I can't just say

that after the poll but, as of right now Xbox

wins! Email [email protected] to

Reviews & Opinions By: Masha Shippert and Olivia Bluto

Looking for a book to read? Here are some good ones!

Eragon by Christopher Paolini This is a really interesting book! The main character, Eragon, has grown up hearing tales of the great Dragon Riders of old, before the evil king Galbatorix took over the land. While out hunting in the mountains, Eragon finds a dragon egg. Once the egg hatches, the king sends creatures called Ra’zac to try and retrieve Eragon and the dragon hatchling. By the time the Ra’zac reach where Eragon is, however, the dragon is old enough to carry Eragon, and they escape to the mountainside for a night. When Eragon returns, he finds his uncle dead, and sets out on a journey with local storyteller Brom, to avenge his uncle. On this journey, Eragon finds that he has much to learn about magic and how to control his Dragon Rider powers, so once he defeats an evil Shade by chance and mostly recovers, he sets out to find the elves that can teach him. This book is very intense and action packed. Sometimes you feel like you're in battles alongside the characters! It is the first book in a series called the Inheritance Cycle, and definitely worth the read! In order, the books of the Inheritance Cycle are Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and finally Inheritance.

Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson Ok how do I even start with this book? The whole story is about a girl named Melinda who goes to a party and something happens to her there . She calls the cops and now everyone is angry at her. Through the whole book we see how she is cast out . No one wants to talk to her , get to know her , or even treat her right. The reader sees that she is clearly not ok , but through the whole book she doesn’t talk to anyone about what happened. She barely talks all ! She is so alone trapped in her own mind . I don’t want to tell you what happened to her to spoil the book but I’m going to leave a small trigger warning here ⚠ . It’s really an eye opening book and I think it’s a great read . The book gets a little boring in the middle but I think especially in 2019 this is an important book.

Boundless by Kenneth Opal The Boundless simply put is a great book . The book is about a boy that is traveling in the first class carriage of a train . The boy comes across some information he probably shouldn’t know and has to join a traveling circus . The entire book takes place on a train traveling across the country. It is a thrilling adventure and I could barely put this book down .Twists were being thrown at you throughout the entire book . Now it might sound like your classic train murder but Kenneth Opal really gives it a fresh mysterious feeling. Definitely recommend to those mystery lovers.

More ReviewsInterested in movies, here’s our recommendations!Star WarsThis is technically a series of movies, 8 in total. There are three different sagas within it. The first follows Anakin Skywalker as he goes from a poor slave boy to a Jedi. Anakin has a forbidden marriage with a senator named Padme, which ultimately turns him to the dark side, where he takes the name Darth Vader. The second follows Anakin’s son, Luke Skywalker. After Luke’s aunt and uncle are killed by the empire, he embarks on a mission with former Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi to rescue Princess Leia from the empire’s clutches. Once she is rescued, Luke goes on to train to become a Jedi and ultimately saves his father from the dark side. The newest follows a girl named Ray. Not much is known about Ray’s background, but she is very strong in the Force, which gives the Jedi their powers. Ray is tempted by the dark side, particularly because of Kylo Ren, aka Ben Solo. There is supposed to be a new movie coming out this December, so maybe we’ll find out more about Ray then. These movies are action packed and very entertaining! Movies are rated PG and PG-13Fantastic BeastsFantastic Beasts consist of 2 movies (so far). It is a spin off of the Harry Potter series. In the first book, the main character, a wizard named Newt Scamander, journeys to America from Britain to study magical creatures. Newt has a magical briefcase that is home to many magical creatures that Newt is studying/nursing back to health. Unfortunately, some of the creatures escape, and Newt has to team up with a non-magic person named Jacob and a wizard cop named Tina to retrieve them. Meanwhile, Newt also has to deal with a boy named Credence, who can’t keep his magic under control. The second movie follows Newt as he tries to track Tina and apologize to her for his behaviour in between the two movies. Along the way, Newt and Jacob reunite and the two end up going on a journey together to save Tina and ultimately fighting an evil wizard named Grindelwald. These movies are good if you like action/adventure movies. They are action packed and very suspenseful! Rated PG-13

The Count of Monte CristoPG-13This movie is your classic romance/adventure/revenge film. An innocent man is wrongly accused and uses strategy and skill to get revenge. It’s a thrilling movie and I absolutely assure you that you won’t be bored. This movie has a really princess bride-y feeling with an epic prison escape. It was originally a book so if you have time I would recommend you check that out. This movie is an absolute masterpiece. I can’t begin to explain how great this movie is . To the point, if my friends had the choice to watch the movie or come to my wedding, I would beg them to sit on the couch and watch this classic .YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Spring is back! There are many activities to do in Vermont. My favorite is spring skiing. The weather this next week looks like it might rain. So get your ponchos out and umbrellas. Temperatures go up as well as gas prices. If you are living near a farm,be prepared to have the fresh smell of spring and summer. But if you live near a sugar farm, ask your neighbor to go over and get a fresh smell of maple syrup boiling. So enjoy spring.

Dogs are better than cats

Do you wanna know why dogs are awesome? Dogs are

awesome because they help people, Cats don't. Dogs are energetic, Cats are lazy! Best of all they make great companions. Dogs make great companions, because dogs are patient and are great listeners. Many people tell their dogs things that they cant tell anyone else. Dogs are also calm. Dogs are great for people that lives alone or needs company. Dogs help people and help you get friends, because Dogs can be service dogs. Most dogs are curious. They want to meet other while on walks. Dogs are great conversation starters. They make it easy to meet new friends. They want to meet animals and people on walks. Dogs help with safety, because Most dogs will bark if there is danger. Dogs can scare off intruders or warn their owners if there is a fire. Specially trained dogs can also find missing people, sniff out bombs, find hidden drugs, and help disabled people. These are my three reasons that dogs are awesome. Dogs are energetic, Dogs help people, and Dogs make the best companions. ~Emma Arsenault

Enosburg Life : Then Vs Now

Living in Enosburg was way different then than it is now. Teens in about 1982 lived very different than us.

Kids our age back then had hard laboring jobs from the age of 9 with a pay of 1 dollar a day! Kids would work at hay barraling. Kids had more freedom than today too. They could go anywhere without their parents worrying about something bad happening to them. They would play on the main streets without getting hit. Most of our parents got hit for talking with even a tiny bit of attitude. I’m sure your parents have probably said something along the lines of “If I talked like that to MY parents I would’ve gotten whipped!”

So most can agree, living in 1982 Enosburg was different than living in 2019 Enosburg.
