    Product InformationDomestic hot water storage tank of corrosionprotected steel with built-in insulation madeof PUR Foam.Fully hygienic, efficient and economicaldomestic hot water production by solarcollectors and a hot water heating boiler.Heat from the solar collectors is transferredto the domestic hot water via the lowertank coil.

    Benefits at a glance:

    H Corrosion-resistant tank with Ceraprotectenamel coating ensures a long service life .Additional cathode protection is providedby a magnesium anode.

    H The entire water content is heated by acoiled 1/25 mm diameter steel heat

    exchanger surface which extends to thebottom of the tank .

    H Increased energy savings thanks to highlyeffective, foamed-in-place HCFC-freeinsulation keeping standby losses at a

    H The Vitocell-B 100 119 USG / 450 Lcapacity tank is supplied with removablesoft PET insulation for easier handling.

    H For dual-mode DHW heating with solarpanels in conjunction with a boiler. Thesolar energy gathered by the solar panelsis transferred to the DHW by the lowerindirect coil. For mono-mode DHW heatingwith a boiler or heat pump - both indirectcoils can be connected in series.

    Sensor wells

    The sensor wells are welded into the DHWtank.

    Sensor wells for solar operation

    For solar heating systems, Viessmannrecommends placement of the DHW tanktemperature sensor in the solar collectorreturn. This requires installation of a a brasselbow with sensor well included in theaccessory pack.

    These operating conditions require theinstallation of an additional safety high limitinto the DHW storage tank, preventing thedomestic hot water temperature from risingb 203 F/ 95 C A d i h

    Temperature and pressurerelief valve

    A temperature and pressure relief valve(T&P relief valve) is supplied with the tank.The heating contractor must install thevalve on each tank in a method meetingcode requirements. If local codes require adifferent relief valve, substitute themanufacturers supplied valve. The tank isapproved for 150 psig. Maximum operatingpressure is 150 psig.The T&P relief valve supplied with the tank

    is tested under ANSI Z21.22 Code for ReliefValves and Automatic Gas Shut-off Devicesfor Hot Water Supply Systems.

    Backflow preventers

    Where backflow preventers are required, adomestic water expansion tank installationis recommended in the cold water inletpiping before the cold water enters theVitocell. For the backflow device, observelocal plumbing codes and regulations.

    Warranty excerpt

    Our warranty for domestic hot water tanksstates that the water to be heated must beof drinking (potable) water quality and thatany water treatment equipment in use mustfunction correctly.Viessmann accepts no responsibility fordamage howsoever caused and reserves theright to withdraw the product warranty if theproduct has been improperly installed ormisapplied by the installer, contractor or enduser. In order to qualify for product warranty,strict adherence to the installation andservice manuals must be assured. In theevent that Viessmann non-approvedcomponents are utilized, Viessmann reservesthe right to withdraw all expressed or impliedwarranties without written notice.

    The water to be heated with the Vitocellmust be drinking (potable) water quality. Ifthe tank is used to heat other media, thewarranty will be null and void. Damageresulting from excessive pressure ortemperature is clearly not the responsibilityof Viessmann.

    The amount of chloride and sulfateacceptable to the tank is limited. In areaswhere high concentrations of chloride andsulfate are present in drinking water, pleaseconsult Viessmann for directions.
