Visit of High level delegation from Uttar Pradesh to attend the Defence &
Security Equipment International (DSEI) in London.
A delegation of the Government of Uttar Pradesh led by Hon’ble Minister for Industrial
Development, Shri Satish Mahana, along with Mr. Rajesh Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary,
Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department, Mr. Amit Singh, Special Secretary to
Hon’ble Chief Minister, Lt. Gen. Jagdeep Kumar Sharma, Senior Advisor- Defence Corridor,
UPEIDA and Mr. Mansoor Katiyar, Regional Manager, Uttar Pradesh State Industrial
Development Authority went to London for a 5 days visit from 09th September 2019 to 13th
September 2019. The objective of the visit was to showcase investment opportunities available
in Uttar Pradesh for the prospective investors in Defence Corridor. It was also intended to
establish a dialogue with the prospective investors of Defence & Aerospace Sector. The
delegation attended the Defence & Security Equipment International (DSEI) in London. DSEI is
world leading event that connects governments, national armed forces, industry thought
leaders and the global defence & security supply chain on an unrivalled scale. With a range of
valuable opportunities for networking, a platform for business, access to relevant content &
live-action demonstrations, the DSEI is a forum to share knowledge, discover & experience the
latest capabilities across the Aerospace, Land, Naval, Security & Joint domains. DSEI also
showcased the product and offerings of top companies from across the globe in a concurrent
exhibition. The exhibition is divided in five different zones catering to Aerospace, Land, Naval,
Security and other stream of products/services.
DSEI was primarily aimed to be a buyer seller meet in which all participating companies
have showcased their product and service offerings to probable clients/customers. The
delegation of Uttar Pradesh took advantage of this forum to reach out to all the corporations to
consider Uttar Pradesh as destination for their future investment. Along with showcasing
investment potential, the delegation took this opportunity to invite corporations to participate
in forthcoming Def Expo which is to be organised in Lucknow very soon. The delegation also
discussed the prospects available in Defence Corridor of Uttar Pradesh with participating
companies and their view about the same.
The delegation also had number of one to one meeting with senior industrialists in
order to address their issues and convince them to invest in Defence Corridor of Uttar Pradesh
in pursuance of energising the development of the Defence Corridor.
