Facility Engineering Associates, P.C. (FEA) provided engineering consultation related to the restoration of concrete balconies at a 15-story commercial office building.
Using the findings from a detailed assessment, FEA developed a suitable approach to address observed deficiencies in the manner most effective for the property. FEA prepared construction documents for the project and, through administration of the contract and site visits, verified technical standards were achieved.
Repairs included partial and full-depth concrete repairs, sealant replacement, brick replacement, and the installation of new handrails. In addition to addressing deteriorated concrete and fall hazards, FEA's repairs included the application of a protective coating to enhance the appearance and extend the service life of the balconies.
