OBJECTIVES

• To extend assistance to patients who, during their treatment, face social, physical, economic and psychological problems.

• To enable the patients to utilize the facilities under social security and welfare measures provided by the government and non-governmental institutions.

• To assess the psychosocial functioning of patients and families and intervene as necessary. Interventions may include providing psychotherapy, supportive counseling, or grief counseling; connecting patients and families to necessary support systems in the community; or helping a patient to expand and strengthen their network of social supports.

OBJECTIVES

• To organize and conduct programmes for patient welfare.

• To disseminate information on health and development themes through pamphlets, newsletters, brochures and booklets.

• To complement the efforts of health care providers in the prevention of disease, after care and social rehabilitation of patients.

• To extend community outreach programmes in the field of health care and development.

OBJECTIVES

• To conduct survey, study, research in health and development related topics/themes.

• To organize and conduct seminar, workshops, conferences to update knowledge and information.

• To train social work professionals by introducing specialized courses designed to meet the current demands.

• To liaison with NGOs, panchayats, departments, institutions and donors for the effective implementation of health care and development programmes in the community.

ACTIVITIES

•Providing information and guidance to patients and other clients regarding facilities and services of the hospital.

•Counselling services- to the referral cases from clinical departments & Blood Bank.

•Teaching guidance and supervision to MSW and M.Sc(counseling) students.
