Write six goals using precise words and phrases related to a central theme, by completing provided stems on vision board.

Vocabulary Needs: things you have to have in order to live/survive. (For example: air, food, water, shelter, clothes, safety, love)

Wants: things that you would like to have to make your life easier -- things you can live without. (For example: CDs, new clothes, TV set)

Values : guidelines on how you live; your beliefs about right and wrong; (For example: freedom, honesty, trust, health, friendship, fun, money, power, love)

Goals: Where you want to go – something you want in the future that will make you happy.

Vocabulary Short-term – will happen soon (days or weeks). (For example: To get an A in a class.) Long-term – wlll happen later (months or years). For example: Graduate from high school.) Reaching short-term goals will help you reach long-term goals.

Resources: something used to help you achieve a goal. (For example: money, time, knowledge, things, people)

Decision: a choice you make between 2 or more possibilities

VB Introduction

A vision/goal board is a collage of images, pictures and affirmations of your goals both personal and academic.

Directions1. Bring a photo of yourself to class. If one is not brought in we will take

a photo and print it.2. Find pictures that correspond with your goals, either from old

magazines, photographs, or from the Internet. Print (if necessary) and cut out your pictures.

Directions cont...3. Type or write words or phrases that correspond with your goals. On the front of your vision board with your pictures.

4. Glue your pictures, words, and or phrases to your vision board.

Confer and Present1. With your elbow partner confer (talk about)

about your goals.2. With your table group take turns presenting

your vision boards.
