“Growing Opportunities through SBIR/America’s Seed Fund”

Brittany Sickler serves as Senior Innovation Policy Advisor for the SBA’s Office of Investment and Innovation. Her primary duties support the advancement of the Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/ STTR) programs, which enable small businesses to explore their technological potential and profit from its commercialization. She oversees initiatives to increase understanding of SBIR/STTR opportunities with SBA offices and partner networks across the country, as well as manages the agency’s Federal and State Technology (FAST) Partnership Program. Brittany spent almost four years in SBA’s North Dakota District Office as an Economic Development Specialist, building and strengthening connections throughout the state, particularly with regional startup networks and rural communities. She also served as Special Advisor in SBA’s Office of Entrepreneurial Development, advancing strategic initiatives and coordinating SBA’s first Virtual Conference.

Prior to SBA, Brittany served in Guatemala as a Peace Corps Volunteer and Volunteer Leader in the Sustainable Community Tourism program, a combination of economic development and environmental conservation. She was a Masters International Fellow, completing a Master’s in International Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University. She also holds degrees in Business Administration and Spanish from Indiana Wesleyan University. Her career in economic development started in Southern Florida with microlender ACCION USA, providing small business loans to individuals who could not access traditional credit.

Special Agent (SA) Krieger is a career criminal investigator with 30 years of experience serving two federal law enforcement agencies. For the past 20 years, SA Krieger has worked for NASA OIG at Kennedy Space Center, FL, and has handled numerous successful white-collar criminal and civil investigations to include product substitution, theft of trade secrets, grant fraud, lease fraud, conflicts of interest, conspiracy, embezzlement, theft and various other procurement-related cases. He has been a regular guest instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center’s Product Substitution course since 2008 and is a 2019 graduate of the FBI National Academy, Class 276.

SA Krieger began his law enforcement career as a Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) in 1989 after graduating from Memphis State University and receiving a US Air Force commission via Air Force ROTC. While on active duty, SA Krieger served tours in Arkansas, Guam, Panama, and Florida. He commanded the Panama Jack Task Force, a unique tri-service, counter-smuggling unit based in the Republic of Panama from 1993 to 1995 and commanded AFOSI Detachment 419, Tyndall AFB, FL, from 1995 to 1998. While serving the Air Force, SA Krieger conducted and supervised cases involving narcotics distribution, smuggling, illegal weapons, counterfeit currency, counterintelligence matters, rape, aggravated assault, armed robbery, child abduction / abuse and homicide and has coordinated successful prosecutions with state, federal, military and foreign prosecutors in numerous locations. In 1999, SA Krieger transitioned from active duty and became a reserve AFOSI Officer. He is an Air Command and Staff College graduate and retired from the Air Force Reserves in 2010 as a Lieutenant Colonel.
