Virtual Sampling – Color Assessment Traditional color approval processes compare physical samples side-by-side for color approval. The process requires physical samples to be sent between buying offices and manufacturers by courier. This is a long and expensive process, typically requiring several days or even a week to complete just one color assessment cycle. SGS’s laboratory network is now equipped with the harmonized DigiEye system and able to provide a virtual sampling – color assessment service. WHAT IS VIRTUAL SAMPLING? Virtual sampling – color assessment can manage the color supply chain virtually from anywhere in the world, without the need for physical samples. Our laboratories can capture a true image of samples which can then be accessed anywhere through cloud sharing. Virtual sampling color assessments have several benefits over traditional methods: • Cost savings – from courier, sample storage and management • Fast communications – as color of the sample can be sent electronically • Decisions can be based on objective data • Higher productivity and shorter development time and cycle • Consistent color standards and samples will not age over time.
