New State Immunization Requirements

• Effective July 1, 2011, Assembly Bill 354 requires at all California students in grades 7 though 12 receive the Tdap booster vaccine.

• This means that for the 2013-2014 school year, all students entering 7th through 12th grades must provide proof that they have received the Tdap booster vaccine before starting school.

All students enter through the school double doors on east side or south side of school.

Students may also enter through the Hermosa gate on west side of school.

Students are not to be on campus until 7:55 as there is no supervision until then.

Students are to remain in quad until the 8:05 am bell rings.

Students who are not seated in classrooms by 8:10 are considered tardy and must enter through the office to complete a tardy slip before entering classrooms.

Lunch at the Junior High 7 lunch windows to choose from – Lunch $2.75

2 “Express windows” where students may purchase the entre that is designated for that day:

spicy chicken sandwich cheeseburger nachos

3 “Regular windows” where students may purchase any of the following: pizza burrito salads sandwiches

2 “A la carte windows” where students may purchase cookies chips Gatorade water

Students have approximately 12 – 15 minutes to eat – they are then dismissed for restroom use, socializing and/or sports activities for another 15 minutes – there are no recesses

Students may be cited for such behavior as:

• Loitering• Possession of tobacco products• Littering• Gaming• Disturbing the peace• Threatening school employees and officials• Keeping lost property• Petty theft• Possession of aerosol paint containers• Possession of graffiti tools• Affixing graffiti• Possesion or consumption of alcohol or possession of less than 1

oz of marijuana.

California Junior Scholarship Federation

(CJSF)• • Statewide

organization to promote and recognize high standards of student scholarship, service, and citizenship.

Qualifications: •Minimum of 8 points in the 4 academic classes (ELA, Math, Soc. Studies, and Science)•Points are calculated by: A = 3 pts B = 1 pt. Students may not receive any Ds or Fs on their trimester report card. Students may not have Ns or Us in their citizenship grades on their report cards.

7th grade students may apply for CJSF at the end of the 1st trimester.

Student members of CJSF pay a $2.00 membership fee for each trimester.

Beginning with 2005-2006 school year – students entering 7th or 8th grade must maintain a 3.5 GPA in ELA, Math, Social Studies and Science.

For incoming 7th graders, GPA will be taken from grades earned in 4th, 5th, and 6th grades.

** If a 3.5 GPA in not earned in ELA or Math, a score of proficient or advanced on most recent CST will provide an alternate way of meeting

eligibility requirements.
