Vincentian is a system rich in tradition and bustling with potential.

Consider this: Founded nearly 100 years ago by the Sisters as the Holy Rosary Cottage in McCandless, our ministries have grown to serve more than 2,000 seniors and their families every year. We also serve some 200 children at two child care centers.

It’s made achievable through the hands and hearts of so many: 750 employees, hundreds of volunteers and more than 3,000 donors who make what we do possible.

These members of the Vincentian family provide tremendous contributions to the communities in which they live, work, volunteer and support.

While our legacy of compassionate care provides guideposts, the helping hands and hearts of our ministries make the wheels turn. At Vincentian, “It’s All About Living.”

THE VINCENTIAN STORY

Joyful, compassionate care is Vincentian’s hallmark. Whether it’s skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation therapy after a hospital stay, memory care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease, long-term care or forward-looking independent living solutions for active seniors, Vincentian Collaborative System’s experienced staff and partners provide loving care from the heart. We create communities that nurture residents not only in body, but in mind and spirit. This is the Vincentian Way – “It’s All About Living.”

The Vincentian system traces its history back to the Holy Rosary Cottage founded by the Sisters in 1924 to serve 24 residents. From these humble beginnings, Vincentian has grown to operate three senior care communities in the Greater Pittsburgh, PA area – Vincentian Home, Vincentian de Marillac and Vincentian Marian Manor. These ministries offer a continuum of care for up to 537 seniors at any one time, including independent living, personal care, memory care, short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing. We also operate Vincentian Villa, an independent living community in the North Hills, a charitablefoundation and two child care centers.

While we are forward-looking to meet the needs of today and tomorrow, our devotion to our heritage never wavers. From day-one of their visionary ministry, the Sisters were devoted to caring for the whole person - body, mind, and spirit - and this is the central tenet of our work today. Residents enjoy vibrant activities, festive celebrations, and engaging environments thanks to an activities staff that delivers new programs every day and a Pastoral Care team that’s ready to serve.

As part of the worldwide ministry of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, we walk in the footsteps of Catherine Spalding, St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac. With their pioneer spirit at heart, Vincentian is continually innovating to become more efficient and cost-effective while staying true to our core mission to provide companionship and support to residents and their families.

For nearly a century, supporters from near andfar have helped Vincentian provide residents and their families with loving care and peace of mind.

Unlike many for-profit healthcare systems, when a resident’s funds become exhausted, we do not turnthem away. Support from our donors enhances the quality of life for our residents and helps Vincentianannually provide more than $7 million in benevolent care - the difference between the cost of care and residents’ ability to pay.
