VIKOMA T DISCThe Vikoma ‘T’ disc is the heart of the Vikoma industrial disc skimmer. It is a patented design.

It has been found that the provision of a band or ’T’ profile around the periphery of an oil skimming disc, significantly improves performance in terms of recovery rates and in promoting surface currents to draw isolated oil patches into the skimmer.

The T6 oil recovery skimmer is designed for continuous use in both hazardous and corrosive environments in situations where water levels may vary significantly.

The skimmer will remove a wide range of floating oils at a maximum recovery rate of up to 6m3/hrwithatypicalfreewatercontent of only 2%.

The T6 is manufactured from 316 grade stainless steel and is fitted with carbon filledPTFEscrapers.

The skimmer head is able to be operated inATEXZone1areas.

The system is supplied with a positive displacement rotary lobe recovered oil transfer pump capable of pumping a wide range of pollutants of varying viscosities.

The T9 oil recovery skimmer is designed for continuous use in both hazardous and corrosive environments. The T9 will remove a wide range of floating oils at a maximum recovery rate of up to 9m3/hrwith a typical free water content of only 2%.

The system is fitted with an on-board positive displacement rotary lobe recovered oil transfer pump that is automatically operated by a float switch.

The skimmer can be supplied either in a floating version for where water levels may vary significantly or a fixed version for where the water level is fixed such as an API separator.

The T9 is manufactured from 316 grade stainless steel and is fitted with carbon filled PTFEscrapersandisabletobeoperatedinATEXZone1areas.

The skimmer is powered by an electro-hydraulic powerpack unit and can operate continuously, unattended with minimal maintenance.

The depth of the circular weir is controlled by a float unit situated in the oil collection trough.

The Dragonfly skimmer can be supplied with a variety of different transfer pumps in order to meet the operator’s requirements:

The Dragonfly skimmer can also be attached to a vacuum tanker for skimming operations.

Vikoma In Tank SkimmersThe Vikoma In-Tank skimmer system consists of a floating weir skimmer and discharge tube assembly.

The depth of the circular weir submersion is controlled by the float unit situated in the oil collection trough.

A bellows connected between the weir and trough facilitates weir movement.

Vikoma can design and supply single or multiple articulated discharge arms in order to suit different tank diameters and heights.

The system can also be supplied with coiling discharge hoses and guide wires.

The systems can be manufactured from a variety of specialist materials, such as 316 stainless steel, Super Duplex, Incoloy 825.

The skimmer and discharge arms are of welded and bolted construction. This allows the component parts to be accessed through any existing manholes with a minimum of 600mm diameter. The items are then assembled inside the tank.

Boom sliders / Anchor pillars

Vikoma anchor pillars are designed to be used with Vikoma booms. They are used to secure booms to vertical walls and can be fitted to separators, inlets and outlets, drainage channels and culverts.

The systems are designed to automatically adjust to varying water levels so that pollutants are effectively contained awaiting recovery.

The anchor pillars and floats are manufactured from 316 grade stainless steel so that they can be used in arduous environments.

Problem Existingskimpiperunshaveaveryshallowslopetotheseparator oilsump.Oiltowaterratiointherecoveredoilisrarelybetterthan 20% oil to 80% water. Reduced operator availability.

Specific site objectives:

• Fixedskimmerc/won-boardpumpsarerequired.• Oiltowaterratiorequired80%oilto20%waterorbetter.• Feedstock from API separator to dissolved air floatation system (DAF) to be 15ppm or less.• Continuous oil skimming required with infrequent operator attendance.

A system comprising of 2 x T14 fixed oil skimmers on a beam support structure have been installed in each of the 4 bays. All site objectives have been met or exceeded. In the 4 bay separator with all the improvements oil levels in the final discharge, after the DAF system are typically 1-2ppm.
