Bombali District Education Committee Primary Scholl was founded in 1945, by a group of British missionaries who went to part of the country in Northern Province of Sierra Leone. As the British were trying to gain access of the entire protectorate at that time. They took with them Education and the Word of God, thereby transforming the African society of cultural practices to enlightenment education. This new theory were openly accepted by the Tribal Authorities known as Paramount Chiefs and their subject. In this regard, for the period under review B.D.E.C.Primary School came into existence. Today, the school is situated in the chiefdom headquarter town of Mateboi- Sanda Tenraren Chiefdom, Bombali District, Northern Province-Sierra Leone. And has 450 students and eight teachers. Since this school is situated in a deep farming community, the school has integrated agriculture in its curriculum for period under review, and has a Rice and Vegetable farm land that support the student learning and teachers through the sale of rice and vegetable after every harvest seasons. This has further lead to the establishment of B.D.E.C.Primary School Farming Project. As the school has been a role model among other schools in academic performance and sell-reliant, Plan International-Sierra Leone decided to provide grant to rebuild the dilapetead structures into a modern classrooms.

Since B .D.E.C.Primary School is situated in the chiefdom headquarter town of Sanda Tenraren chiefdom that housed the Paramount Chief of the chiefdom. Its location serves as a strategic local administrative headquarters town for all chiefdom matters and development. As it also serves as a hub to the other remaining ten sections that constitute the chiefdom.
How could you use your existing skills to start a business? E.g. ‘Six students have cooking skills, so they could help other students to start a café.’ (2)
All the eight teachers graduated from a Teacher Training Colleges were agricultural Science is part of the college curriculum. And is being taught for three years. The course entail detail modern methods of farming activities in the 21st century mechanize and agro-base farming.

b) If yes, how are you planning to raise the start-up capital? (10) Please tell us in as much detail as possible how you are going to raise the money needed to start up your school business. Funds for this project are going to be raised from what is known as Government Assistance Fund provided by the central government to all schools in Sierra Leone. This funds is for schools to address immediate needs of teachers, buying of textbooks, exercise books, chalks, minor repairs of classrooms, furniture and other amenities. This funds are passed through the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development. And all money spent has to be fully accounted for.

Our business strategy will revolve around the need to provide quality rice and vegetable farming practice, in the process fully satisfying their needs of the market and the community. This shall be undertaken through the teaching of agriculture from class one to class six team and the production of good quality reports designed to cater to the client’s needs. These reports/proposals shall be professionally done so as to be reflective of our intended image and reputation. We shall position ourselves as a quality service provider that strives to provide accuracy, relevancy and specific information. We intend to establish a good rapport with other schools, local authorities and the buyers that may in turn refer us to aspiring entrepreneurs.
With time our presence in the rice and vegetable business will increase the knowledge of our services to the various market segments we shall be targeting. This is particularly so with local farmers looking at establishing themselves in Sanda Tenraren chiefdom, hence providing them easy access to local information. In such a case Web presence is a natural objective in reaching the appropriate potential customers. We also intend to have period seminars with other schools that will enable them to have an understanding of the types of seedlings we offer and advantages of doing so.
