PRESS RELEASE: 21 December 2015
FINAL CHANCE TO GET YOUR DISCOUNTED 2016 READING HALF MARATHON PLACE
The Vitality Reading Half Marathon returns on Sunday 3rd April 2016, and now’s your final chance to grab
discounted entry to one of the most prestigious half marathons in the British running calendar. Prices will
increase in January, so sign up for your 2016 challenge now to avoid disappointment!
The world renowned race is in its 33rd year and will lead runners from Green Park, through the beautiful
grounds of Reading University and to a momentous finish inside Reading Football Club’s Madejski Stadium. In
2014 and 2015 the Reading Half Marathon saw more runners crossing the finish line in under 70 and 80
minutes than any other UK road Half Marathon and in 2015, 18 of the 50 fastest times run by UK male
athletes were run at the Reading Half Marathon*.
Judith Manson, Race Director, comments: “Because of great feedback from the 2015 event, the route will
remain the same. It’s flat, it’s fast, and it’s the perfect platform for seasoned athletes and newcomers to the
running community alike. The final straight takes you into the magnificent Madejski Stadium where you'll
experience a rapturous reception from hundreds of supporters in the stands. It’s definitely a date to add to
your diary!”
Pre-January entry prices:
Half Marathon: £34 (UKA affiliated club runners) / £38 for all other runners.
All races include a fantastic medal and finisher bag.
