Ways you can help your child reach their full potential: Please read with your child every night and try to ask them questions

about what they have read. Practise counting forward and back in 1s, 2s, 5s and 10s. Practise phonic sounds frequently, see wordlist which is sent home on a

Friday so you know what sounds and high frequency words they are working on in class. Here is a useful website to use with your child to practice their phonics sounds: http://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/

Handwriting practise is also extremely important in developing your child’s letter formation.

Please do check the class’ blog to keep up-to-date with learning we have been completing in class and for any important messages. Many thanks for your support, from the Year 1 Team; Mrs Smith and Mr Silvestri (Peridot Class), Miss Desai (Diamond Class), Mr Rodgers (Jade Class), Ms Jacquart and Miss Sparman (Emerald Class)
