Paper Airplane Lab

Do not forget to include every part of the rubric in your write up

You are investigating how changing a certain variable affects the flight time (or distance traveled) of a paper airplane.

Materials provided: 2 sheets of copy paper (1 per airplane) 2 paper clips and 4 staples

Make sure to have all 8 Design steps done before moving on to the data collection.

REMINDER: Independent Variable is: What you change

Dependent Variable is: What changes because of the independent variable

You should not have any qualitative data, but if you do, include it.

You will need at minimum 16 total trials (8 per plane). Record flight time in seconds, or distance in meters. Round to two decimal places and put this data in a data table.

You WILL have some calculations. Find the average flight time (or distance) for each plane, as well as the median and range. Show work where appropriate.

Make sure you include all parts of the conclusion and evaluation. For ease of reading you may separate it into three paragraphs, a conclusion, the experimental design weaknesses, and how to improve the experiment.
