I don't think that a lot of bullying happens at our school. Which is a good thing I guess. I surround myself with people I like and are happy being friends with, (of course I had my friends tease me and the same back at them but we all know that its harmless and we all stand up if we really don't want to be teased like that, if one of my friends tell me not to tease them about something I won't, simple as that. I will never playful tease someone I don't know because I don't know if they will take it the way I mean it and could be hurt by it. If I don't like a person because I've seen them be mean, I just don't hang around them, I won't put myself into a situtation where there could be potential bullying. I have never personaly experinced bullying, but if I do I will centernaily tell someone, in fact probably a lot of people, because bullying is something that shouldn't be tolorated.

Late to class, had a written excuse from teacher, still counted tardy by teacher, later asked teacher if he could change it, he said he "could not change it," and added, "why does it even matter?" As a student, felt disrespected and offended-which could be considered bullying. Kid ended up getting tardy removed thanks to a helpful grade level principal and switched to a different class for second semester. I was bullied alot more in elementary and middle school than in highschool; since the beginning of highschool I have rarley-- mabey once or twice every year-- been bullied and that bullying has not been extensive; it was mostly just put downs. Kids think they can do whatever they want because they don't view the bus driver as a person who needs to be listened to and respected! The other times I was bullied in middle school it was mostly through the silent treatment. People would shun me and act as if I didn't exist. Back when I was bullied in third grade, the adults were no help. My teacher and my counselor would never do anything helpful except try and console me after the fact. My mom tried her hardest to help me. The one teacher that helped me was my XXXXXXX teacher, XXXXXXXX (Claymont Elementary). XXXXXX was the only class that I felt completely safe in, because I knew that my bully wouldn't lay a word or finger on me while I was there. Ocasionally at high school, some of the teachers can act as bullies. Some teachers can treat students in ways that come off as rude and disrespectful. Some teachers will talk about students behind their backs to other students. Respect is a two way road. If we are expected to show respect to teachers, we should expect for them to respect us back. The bullying I refer to occurred to my child last year when a number of her female classmates and their older female siblings ganged up on her and shunned her from activities and completely turned against her.
