Dear ParentsI'm sure that there is much celebrating going on in Grades 5-7 now that examinations are over.

We have 2 more weeks of school and staff is frantically busy with last admin activities for the term and year. We are preparing for prize givings and the student end of year fun activities.

Staff NewsWe will be very sad to say goodbye in December to Mrs Lee Lanterme, Grade 1. Lee will be moving back to Johannesburg to take up a post at Red Hill School. She is a popular, valued member of staff and teacher who approaches all she does with commitment and enthusiasm, be it in the classroom or on the sports field. She is always the first person to sign up for staff hockey matches and will be sorely missed. She goes with our best wishes.

We have said goodbye to Mrs Nicky Rosslee who has been teaching Grade 4 D while Mrs Scarterfield has been on maternity leave. Although we are thrilled to have Mrs Scarterfield back, we are very sad to say goodbye to Mrs Rosslee. She has fitted in seamlessly, taking excellent care of the children and sharing her Singapore Maths knowledge and expertise with her colleagues. We are sorry to see her go but wish her and her family well.

Stage 3, 4 and 5 ConcertsPlease note that due to a shortage of space in the JP Hall, we will not be allowing siblings to attend the ELS end of year concerts. These are very popular with parents and other family members and seating is very restricted. We cannot allow siblings to take up the space on the floor which is needed for movement.

Please note the following:We are very fortunate to have the support of many cleansing, maintenance, logistical and grounds staff that assist us on campus. They keep our facilities clean and functional, prepare and clear all of our function venues and assist with driving and deliveries. At the end of the year it is wonderful to acknowledge their role. Should you wish to participate in this initiative please submit your donations in cash to the secretaries marked as Support Staff Donations. Many thanks in advance for your generosity.

We would appreciate our families assisting us in the following charity drive to assist the Westlake Emmanuel Educare School on our doorstep. The acting principal of the school, Ms Hazel Albertus, would be most grateful if every week we assist with the supply of white and brown sliced bread loaves. Every Tuesday this term each Grade will have a turn to supply bread. The bread must be taken to class and will then be delivered to this deserving school. Ms Albertus then freezes the bread to use daily until the fresh bread arrives the following week. It would be wonderful if you feel you would like to add a container of Peanut Butter, Marmite, Jam or Anchovette. We thank you in advance for your kind assistance.GRADE 4 NEWS
