DAY 3 HANOIVisit the famous One Pillar Pagoda and Hỏa Lò Prison (also known as the “Hanoi Hilton”) during your tour of the city. After an included lunch, step into a cyclo for an exciting tour of the colonial area, ending your day with a traditional water puppet show. Enjoy a Northern Vietnamese Welcome Dinner with complimentary wine at one of Hanoi’s most charming establishments, while a famous Vietnamese band provides traditional, live music. (B/L/D)

DAY 5 SIEM REAPYou’ll begin your day at Angkor Wat, the most recognizable landmark in Cambodia, and the largest religious monument in the world. The temple boasts the longest continuous bas-relief sculpture in existence; then tour the city center of Siem Reap by remork (motocycle rickshaw, also known as a tuk-tuk). The tour will introduce you to Siem Reap’s many dining and shopping options, and include a tour of a traditional artists’ workshop. (B/L)

DAY 6 SIEM REAPThis morning, you’ll visit Banteay Srey, considered to be the pinnacle of artistic achievement at Angkor, and Banteay Samré. In the afternoon, you’ll see the temple of Ta Prohm, which has been overtaken by the jungle--tentacle-like tree roots spill over centuries-old walls and roofs, enveloping the entire structure. After your afternoon at leisure, guest will enjoy a private dinner with Apsara show at a local venue. (B/D)

DAY 7 SIEM REAP / KAMPONG CHAM / EMBARKATIONToday’s expedition encompasses the south gate of Angkor Thom, once the capital of the Khmer empire, and the pyramid temple of Bayon with its iconic carved heads, rumored to be faces of King Jayavarman VII, himself. The morning ends with a walk around Baphuon Temple, the Terrace of the Elephants, and the moss-encrusted Terrace of the Leper King. After returning to the hotel to refresh and check out, you will travel to Kampong Cham, where you will board the intimate Mekong Navigator. In the evening, indulge in a special Cambodian Themed Dinner. (B/L/Welcome Reception/Theme Dinner)

DAY 8 WAT HANCHEY / KAMPONG CHAMThis morning, you visit a local, secondary school, which serves eight surrounding districts. Following a short tour of the school and an interesting Q&A opportunity with the principal, you walk up the hill to the temple of Wat Hanchey and receive a traditional Buddhist water blessing from the monastery’s resident monks. After a peaceful walk around the monastery, we descend the massive, concrete stairway, surrounded by the incredible view of the Mekong River below. Following lunch on board, you enjoy a drive through the city of Kampong Chamto visit the hills of Phnom Pros (man hill) and Phnom Srei (woman hill), the incredible Stupa, the 10-meter long reclining Buddha, and the 13-meter tall preaching Buddha. Today’s final visit is to the 12th century, Angkorian-period complex of Wat Nokor Bachey, which features several original Buddha statues ,and stone inscriptions. You then return to the ship and begin sailing downstream. (B/L/D)

DAY 9 TONLE SAP RIVER CRUISE / KAMPONG CHHNANGYou will enjoy a full day of sailing up the scenic Tonle Sap River. This very narrow, winding river provides a rare, up-close glimpse of rural river life in Cambodia. After lunch, you board a private excursion boat and experience a panoramic cruise of the floating villages at Kampong Chhnang. Here you observe the very friendly locals living, working, and even shopping on the river. Upon our return to the ship, we sail back downstream on the Tonle Sap, enjoying the beautiful sunset, while local children on the riverbanks bid us farewell as we make our way back to the mighty Mekong. DAY 10 PHNOM PENH / OVERNIGHTAfter breakfast on board this morning, local cyclo drivers will meet guests for an exciting city tour of Phnom Penh. Guests will ride along the riverfront

to the Royal Palace, where they will enjoy a leisurely walk through the grounds, with opportunities to visit the Throne Hall and Moonlight Pavilion. Upon crossing into the second section of the complex, guests will walk amongst enormous stupas, spirit houses, and potted flowers, on the way to the famous Silver Pagoda, home of Cambodia’s Emerald Buddha and Maitreya Buddha, encrusted with more than 9,000 diamonds. Following a short break where guests may choose to walk through the Elephant Room, guests return to their cyclos for the ride to the National Museum. Housing the largest pre-Angkorian and Angkorian holdings in Cambodia, the National Museum ends the morning tour with a comprehensive look at many of the artifacts excavated around the Angkor Archeological Area in Siem Reap. After a return cyclo ride to the ship, guests may wish choose to have lunch on board or at a local restaurant, walk along the quay, or visit some of Phnom Penh’s famous markets or lovely boutiques during your afternoon at leisure. Before dinner, children entertain you on the Sun Deck with a cultural performance including Apsara, Cambodia’s national dance, as well as local traditional folk dances. (B/L/D/Cultural Performance)

DAY 11 PHNOM PENHAfter a scenic 45-minute drive, you arrive at the Cheoung Ek Killing Fields, where you have the opportunity to walk through the fields and visit the small Memorial Stupa. You may also wish to take time to visit the small Genocidal Center museum and learn more about the atrocities committed during the Khmer Rouge Regime. On your return to the ship, you will stop at Tuol Sleng, a former school converted into the Khmer Rouge’s infamous prison and torture center known as S-21. You’ll enjoy one last free afternoon in Phnom Penh, before setting sail this evening to cross the border of Cambodia and Vietnam. (B/L/D)

DAY 12 BORDER CROSSING / CHAU DOC, VIETNAMAfter clearing immigration, you will witness a fascinating change in the architecture along the riverfront as you are now in Vietnam. After lunch, you board beautiful sampans for a panoramic cruise of Chau Doc harbor with its traditional Vietnamese floating market. After visiting the main town of Chau Doc and the colorful Tay An Pagoda, you continue your panoramic tour aboard sampans to visit a local family’s fish farm. Here you will learn about various types of fish being caught and farm-raised in this region and the importance of this industry to Vietnam’s economy. (B/L/D)

DAY 13 SA DEC / CAI BEFollowing breakfast this morning, you board sampans to navigate the narrow, scenic canals of the Mekong, providing the opportunity to observe the daily routines of Delta villagers, en route to the historic town of Sa Dec, stopping at a local brick factory where you can view the process of brick making by local men and women utilizing clay from the Mekong River. Upon arrival in Sa Dec, a short visit will be made to the home of Mr. Hyun Thuy Le, the inspiration for Marguerite Duras’ novel, L’Amant (The Lover), before enjoying a fascinating walk through the town’s market, experiencing the sights and sounds of the locals’ daily commerce. After lunch on board, you continue to the town of Cai Be, passing the city’s beautiful French gothic cathedral and then tour the historic An Kiet House with its beautiful surrounding gardens. Next you visit a traditional rice factory where workers produce rice paper, rice wine, popped rice, and many varieties of traditional candies, before stopping at a family-owned fish farm. You will then set sail towards My Tho enjoying a Farewell Reception and elegant Vietnamese theme dinner as you bid farewell to the magnificent Mekong. Overnight onboard. DAY 14 MY THO / DISEMBARKATION / HO CHI MINH CITYAfter disembarkation, travel to Ho Chi Minh City for a tour of the city’s incredible French Colonial architecture, followed by a visit to the Reunification Palace. Settle into the Intercontinental Asiana Saigon Hotel, and enjoy the afternoon and evening at leisure. (B)

DAY 15 HO CHI MINH CITYThis morning, enjoy a scenic drive to Cu Chi Tunnels to explore the area where the astonishing system of underground passages were dug, stretching to the Cambodian border. More adventurous guests may wish to venture into one of the short sections of tunnels that are open to visitors. Following the morning’s tour, enjoy lunch at one of Ho Chi Minh’s well-known restaurants. Your afternoon is free to relax or explore the city on your own, before an included Farewell Dinner at a local venue. (B/L/Farewell Dinner)

DAY 16 HO CHI MINH CITYTransfer to the airport for your flight home, or continue your tour with an optional, post-tour extension to Bangkok. (B)

Any intention or need to use a wheelchair cart, other mobility device By booking passage on this travel program, the guest represents and warrants that he/she is physically and otherwise fit to travel, and that the guest will comply at all times with applicable rules and regulations of the ship and orders and instructions of the ship’s officers. Guests are encouraged to contact individual airlines for weight limitations. All baggage must be securely packed, and properly and clearly labeled. It is also the guest’s responsibility to obtain any necessary visas and public health documents for all applicable ports and to comply with all customs requirements. Without the required documents, a guest may be denied boarding and accommodation by Haimark, Ltd. or the guest may be disembarked during the voyage and Haimark, Ltd. will not make a refund or be otherwise liable to any guest for such denial of boarding or disembarkation.
