If you smell gas
DangerEscaping gas can lead to explo-sions which may result in seriousinjury.■ Never smoke. Prevent naked
flames and sparks. Neverswitch lights or electrical appli-ances ON or OFF.
■ Close the gas shut-off valve.■ Open windows and doors.■ Remove all people from the
danger zone.■ Notify your gas or electricity
supplier from outside the build-ing.
■ Shut off the electricity supply tothe building from a safe place(outside the building).

If you smell flue gas
DangerFlue gas can lead to life-threat-ening poisoning.■ Shut down the heating system.■ Ventilate the boiler room.■ Close all doors leading to the
living space.
Working on the system
■ When using gas as fuel, also close themain gas shut-off valve and safeguardagainst unauthorised reopening.
■ Isolate the system from the power sup-ply and check that it is no longer 'live',e.g. by removing a separate fuse or bymeans of a main isolator.
■ Safeguard the system against unau-thorised reconnection.
! Please noteElectronic modules can be dam-aged by electro-static dis-charges.Touch earthed objects, such asheating or water pipes, to dis-charge static loads.
Repair work
! Please noteRepairing components which ful-fil a safety function can compro-mise the safe operation of yourheating system.Replace faulty components onlywith original Viessmann spareparts.

Vitotrol 300 RF with integral wirelesstransmitter for operation with the wire-less base station (accessory forVitotronic boiler and heating circuit con-trol units) and with Vitotronic 200 RF,type HO1C.
Up to three heating circuits can be oper-ated with one Vitotrol 300 RF; alterna-tively one Vitotrol 300 RF can beemployed for each heating circuit in asingle heating system.
Installation site
■ Vitotrol 300 RF with table-top dock■ Vitotrol 300 RF with wall mounting
bracket
Operation with or without room temperature hook-up
■ Weather-compensated modeInstallation in any room (preferably inthe main living room).
■ Operation with room temperaturehook-up (also see illustration onpage 7)The integral room temperature sensorcaptures the actual room temperatureand effects any necessary correctionof the flow temperature.The captured room temperature isdependent on the installation site:– On an internal wall in the main living
room, at a height of approx. 1.5 mfrom the floor.
– Not next to windows or doors.– Not above radiators.– Not on shelves, in recesses, etc.– Not near heat sources (direct sun-
light, fireplace, TV set, etc.).
Do not install further control devices inthis room. Any thermostatic radiatorvalves must always be fully opened.

Wireless connection
Select the installation site of theVitotrol 300 RF so that the radio signalsare beamed as vertically as possiblethrough walls and floors to the wirelessbase station or Vitotronic 200 RF.
NoteConducting metallic materials (e.g.steel-reinforced concrete floors) have astrong negative effect on reception.
Prior to the final fitting, commission theVitotrol 300 RF and check the transmis-sion and reception quality at the intendedinstallation site.

Prior to commissioning, observe thefollowing:■ The wireless base station must be
connected to the control unit via KMBUS.
Separate installation and serv-ice instructions
■ The control unit to which the wireless
base station is connected must beswitched on.
■ Position the Vitotrol 300 RF for com-missioning close to the wireless basestation Vitotronic 200 RF.
■ Rechargeable batteries supply powerto the Vitotrol 300 RF. The table-topdock and wall mounting bracket arealso charging stations for the batteries.
NoteAs soon as there is a power supply tothe Vitotrol 300 RF, the commissioningassistant starts automatically.Charging batteries: See operatinginstructions for Vitotrol 300 RF.

NoteWhen using the wall mounting bracket,check before installation whether thefield strength of the radio signal is satis-factory.
If the field strength is unsatisfactory,either select another location or use awireless repeater (accessory).
