WELCOME WELCOME

Psalm 1211 I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? 2 My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. 3 He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 Th e LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand. 6 Th e sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. 7 Th e LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. 8 Th e LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.

HYMN - BE STILL , MY SOULHYMN - BE STILL , MY SOUL

Be still, my soul: the Lord is on your side;bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;leave to your God to order and provide;in ev’ry change he faithful will remain.Be still, my soul: your best, your heav’nly Friendthrough thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: your God will undertaketo guide the future as he has the past.Your hope, your confi dence let nothing shake;all now mysterious shall be bright at last.Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still knowhis voice who ruled them while he dwelt below.

Be still, my soul: when dearest friends depart, and all is darkened in the vale of tears, then shall you bett er know his love, his heart, who comes to soothe your sorrow and your fears.Be still, my soul: your Jesus can repayfrom his own fullness all he takes away.

Be still, my soul: the hour is hast’ning onwhen we shall be forever with the Lord, when disappointment, grief, and fear are gone, sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past, all safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

Ecclesiastes 3:1–81 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matt er under heaven: 2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; 3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.

Psalm 61:1–41 Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; 2 from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, 3 for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. 4 Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings!

Psalm 27:1, 4–5, 13–141 Th e LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Th e LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? ...4 One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek aft er: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple. 5 For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock ...13 I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living! 14 Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!

Job 19:23–2723 Oh that my words were writt en! Oh that they were inscribed in a book! 24 Oh that with an iron pen and lead they were engraved in the rock forever! 25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. 26 And aft er my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my fl esh I shall see God, 27 whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another.

John 11:21–2721 Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.” 23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24 Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” 27 She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.” John 14:1–6, 27; 16:331 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.” 5 Th omas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me ...27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid ...16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Romans 14:8–98 For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. 9 For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.

1 Th essalonians 4:13–1813 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 15 For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise fi rst. 17 Th en we who are alive, who are left , will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Th erefore encourage one another with these words.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Psalm 23 - A Psalm of David1 Th e LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff , they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overfl ows. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
