Due to the lack of qualifying candidates for the position of Vice President of DISD ESP Affairs, nominations for this position will be extended until 5:00 p.m. December 13, 2013. NEA-DALLAS EXECUTIVE OFFICERS Election Information & Timeline Executive Officers & Qualifications The Executive Officers of this Association shall be President, Vice President, Vice President for Teacher Affairs, Vice President for Paraprofessionals, Vice President for DISD ESP Affairs, Vice President for DCS ESP Affairs, the Secretary, and Treasurer. These officers shall have been an active member of the Association for at least three (3) years immediately preceding the year in which the election takes place. Each of these officers shall maintain active membership in the Association for the entire term of their office. These officers shall comprise the Executive Committee and the Regional Board of Directors. Terms The term of office shall begin July 15 and shall be limited to two consecutive three (3) year terms, except that time serving completing an unexpired term shall not count in applying this limit. Vacancies 1. In the event of the death, resignation, or removal of the President, the Executive Vice President shall succeed to the office of President. 2. Should a vacancy occur in any other executive office, if more than 12 months remains, the President shall call an election to fill the vacancy. Excepting the dates applying to regular elections, the election shall be held in accordance with Article VI Section 2 of the Association bylaws. 3. Should a vacancy occur in any other executive office, if less than 12 months remains, the Board of Directors shall elect a member to fill only the unexpired terms. Duties of Officers The Executive Officers shall perform the duties provided in this section and other such duties as are prescribed for the officers by the Board of Directors and the Membership Assembly. The Vice President of DISD Educational Support Affairs: a. Must be an ESP in Dallas ISD. Examples: Cafeteria Staff, Janitorial Staff, Maintenance Staff b. Attend Dallas ISD meetings and General Board meetings. c. Assume the responsibilities as may be assigned by the president and the Board of Directors.
