GET READY TO LEARN
4Take challenging and engaging courses that stimulate your critical thinking and creativity.
4Communicate and collaborate with classmates that could be from a small town in rural Maine, a big city in Illinois, or an international school in Venezuela, India or Malaysia.

Imagine taking courses online with a diverse
group of classmates from around the world. You
check feedback from your teacher and see what
you’ll be working on this week. You update your
team’s wiki site with new information you found for
your group project. You reply to a class discussion,
explaining why you disagree with a recent comment.
You post a question, and three classmates respond
with answers while you are still online.
All this is possible with courses offered by your
school through The VHS Collaborative (VHS).
4I really enjoyed the fact that I
got to engage with other students
who were interested in criminol-
ogy! The feedback and other
comments/thoughts really helped
me understand the course better!

With almost 200 VHS courses, you’re sure to find something that’s interesting to you!
With VHS courses, you control where and
when you learn. Work on your course during an
assigned period, or on your own time. Log on to
access lessons, participate in discussions and
group projects, and complete assignments by
the weekly deadlines.
Class sizes are small, so you can get to know
your VHS teacher and your online classmates.
Both your VHS teacher and the VHS site
coordinator at your school are qualified and spe-
cially trained to provide the support you need to
stay on track and succeed in your online courses.
4I liked both the freedom of scheduling
your own work times, similar to a
college course, and the interactivity of
the discussion boards, where I was able
to communicate with my peers.
