Welcome to the Valley Health System Education

and Training Center!

We are pleased to provide a learning environment

aimed at facilitating your success on the job. As a

centralized education department, our goal is to de-

velop and deliver standardized education that meets

the core learning needs common to all VHS facilities.

Standardized programs are important to support the

mobility of staff among all facilities and to minimize

variations that can pose risk to quality. The central-

ized model allows for efficient use of resources, con-

sistency in delivery of quality program content, integ-

rity of skills performance, and ultimately consistency

and quality of care delivery.

The staff at the VHS ETC are highly experienced in

the field of adult education, classroom management

and training modalities, and individually carry a

wealth of experience in a variety of nursing clinical

settings and technologies.

I am proud of the experts who make up the central-

ized education team and it is an honor for me to

serve in the role of chief learning officer for this

GREAT organization. The Valley Health System invests

in each and every employee and this new training

New Employee General Orientation

VHS provides a system level orientation to all new hires and contractors upon their start date with Valley

Health System. The VHS New Employee General Orientation is offered 52 weeks of the year. The majority of

classes are on Monday, with the exception of some weeks that contain a holiday. On those weeks, orienta-

tion is held only for non-clinical employees. The orientation is held at the VHS Education and Training Center

in Classroom A from 8-5pm (accessible from the west parking lot).

VHS Nursing Orientation occurs every week that

is not designated as “non-clinical.” Nursing Ori-

7:30-4:30 while in session. CERNER training

takes place every week that is not designated as

“non-clinical.” Cerner training takes place every

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Welcome to the VHS Training and Education Center located off of 215, near Durango Drive and Sunset Road. Enter the Centra Point business park from either Sunset Road or Rafael Ri-vera Way, and park in any uncovered/non-reserved spot west of the building. The Training Center is on the first floor. Dress is business casual or scrubs. No jeans, shorts, or flip-flops. Classes start promptly so please arrive early. For General Orientation, access the classroom directly from the west parking area.
