Comrades, At Ease! This month marks a new beginning for the 1223’er. You will notice a slightly new look and coming up some new features. One of the things I would like to bring to your attention is the 100th Anniversary of World War I. If you have stories about World War I, I would like to put them in the newsletter. We’ve been archiving the newsletter for almost 3 years now and this is a great way to preserve some of the stories that have been passed down from generation to generation. Including them here will help preserve them for future generations. I also encourage everyone to give me a story of their war. There are numerous anniversaries that should be preserved. Finally, those of you who have been studying the details of military history have many interesting facts to share. I’ll throw one out there: I want some information about railway artillery used in the wars and some were built for defense but never used. Some of you know this topic well so let’s get some submissions! All right get to work! Jr. Vice Commander MK Lentz

Dear sister's It is a pleasure and a privilege to be your president again this year. I know it will be a great year. Karen did a fantastic job and I can only say I hope I can do just as good. I hope you all are having a good summer! I want to take this opportunity to invite you to the VFW for our meeting our meeting they are at 6 o'clock on the first Monday of the month the meetings are not that long because we have no floor work and it's a chance to get out and meet and after the meeting we sit and visit. The state conversation was in St cloud this year .it was very impressive and we all learned allot and had the honor of meeting one of our sisters from National and she was very nice. It also gave us the opportunity to visit with sisters all over the state. Our auxiliary got awards. Our auxiliary got a total of 14 between awards between district and state I was very proud of our ladies. Hope to see you at our next meeting. Enjoy your summer! Joann Lien
