Winemaking
GRAPE SELECTIONThe grapes that are selected to make our Veuve du Vernay wines sparkle are nurtured in some of the most romantic vineyards in the world. Our winemakers use their expertise (and a sprinkle of love) to create crisp and complex flavours from a blend of grapes.
WINE EXPERTISEParcels of grapes from different areas are blended by our oenologist Jean-Jacques Hochet to make the ‘vin de base’ or base wine,to which she adds the ‘liqueur de tirage’ (our secret recipe) a blend of sugar and yeasts that will kick start the fermentation process and start the formation of the bubbles. Over several months the wine will rest giving it time to develop the flavours and fine bubbles of the Veuve du Vernay range.

Tasting note: The chardonnay grapes are selected from central and southern France, the blend of which helps to create the delicate flavours of this wine. The nose is fruity with dominant yellow fruit flavours and the palate is fruity and fresh in mouth.
