Sample and specifi c colloidal gold-conjugated antibodies combine in the conjugate pad creating antigen-antibody-gold conjugate. The test is pre-coated with antigen-specifi c antibodies at the test “T” line.
The conjugate pad is pre-treated with specifi c colloidal gold-con-jugated peptides and colloidal gold-conjugated signal amplifi -cation proteins. The membrane is pre-coated with antibody specifi c peptides that have been linked to a protein carrier at the Test “T” line.
The conjugates fl ow across the membrane and bind to the anti-bodies in the sample line forming a “sandwich”.
When the sample fl ows through the conjugate pad both colloidal gold conjugates bind to any specifi c antibodies present in the sample.

Positive Result
The accumulation of “sandwich” complexes in the test “T” line creates a visible signal.
When the gold labeled antibod-ies reach the test “T” line specifi c antibodies bind to the test “T” line forming an “amplifi ed sandwich” complex which has been augmented by Abaxis’ patented signal amplifi cation technology. The accumulation of the ampli-fi ed sandwich complexes creates a visible signal.
