Please join the Friends of the Library, VETERANS DAY, Saturday,
November 11th at 1PM for a re-dedication ceremony for the
beautifully refurbished Veteran’s War Memorial. Join us for a
Veterans luncheon in the Library Meeting Room at 12PM followed by a
brief recognition ceremony. The Blue Island Public Library
gratefully acknowledges and appreciates the work of the Friends of
the Library on this project.
CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE Saturday, December 2nd. Our Annual Open
House will celebrate Christmas on the (Blue) Island with a
performance by Aloha Chicago. Stop by for hot chocolate and cookies
before the performance, which begins at 6:15PM. Also, Classic
Christmas movies for kids in the Meeting Room from 1-4PM.

Costume Craft: GauntletNov. 16th , 6-7PM. Following the
discus-sion of Karuna Riazi’s new novel The Gauntlet in the
Children’s Department, we’ll be making steampunk gauntlets of our
very own, using cardboard and duct tape. Space Limited to 15

Vortex Cannon, Take 2Nov. 20th, 5-6PM. Back by popular demand -
Build a cannon that can knock over targets with nothing but air.

a toaster oven. And you don’t have to make skulls if that’s too
