GE Oil & GasDrilling & Production
VetcoGray Specialty Connectors & PipeFor land, platform, jackup, floater and deepwater applications
Specialty connectors & pipeOil and gas wells are being drilled deeper all the time, which subjects drilling, completion and production equipment to more extreme pressures, temperatures, fluid velocities, corrosive environments and unstable geological formations. In these conditions, specialty connectors and pipe are fundamental lifelines, not only for a well’s productivity, but for environmental health and safety. Pipe and connector materials must resist these conditions. Seals must be impermeable and easily made. Reliability of this equipment is critical to the success of the overall operation.
GE Oil & Gas solutionsAlthough a pipe may be considered simple or low-tech, the engineering that ensures its reliability in the hole must be anything but. Our designs use higher grade materials for more robust performance and advanced metal-to-metal sealing for high reliability under extreme pressures and temperatures. Our products enable quick, accurate stabbing and virtually eliminate cross-threading in the case of threaded connectors. Our conductor and casing connectors are designed and verified by extensive testing and analysis for compatibility with the strength and capacities of the pipe.
With an inventory and global supply chain structured with speed in mind, operators can take full advantage of timely rig subleases to leverage new drilling opportunities. Our entire portfolio is designed with flexibility in mind – covering a wide range of applications with standardized products and running tools. Drawing on decades of experience, our complete system approach continues to deliver fast, simple and economical conductor and casing joint make-up for the most demanding operations.

Pioneers of connector excellence
GE Oil & Gas provides the complete range of VetcoGray specialty connectors, with a product heritage of industry-wide success dating back to the 1970s, particularly for extreme deepwater applications.
Responsive service to save rig timeOur portfolio includes both threaded and mechanical products – all precision connection systems that simplify makeup of large diameter casings (usually 18-42") to save valuable rig time. They are sought after around the world for challenging drilling projects including highly deviated wells, gas wells and high current environments with fatigue loadings.
Our VetcoGray conductor and casing connectors are designed and verified by extensive testing and analysis for compatibility with the strength and capacities of the pipe, as well as the most extreme operating conditions.
Innovation Now
We have a well-established history of technological innovation that spans decades of proven infield successes in every application area and region of the world.
Single-source solutionsWe offer the industry’s widest range of connector products as well as a variety of drilling equipment so you can always count on us for viable solutions – no matter what challenges you face. This single-source advantage also gives you greater control over delivery times and overall specifications.
As part of our Innovation Now customer focus and commitment, GE Oil & Gas regularly exploits the most advanced technologies to continuously improve performance and productivity for our customers.

Precision analysis methodologies
We employ 2D and 3D finite element analysis (FEA) to optimize the connector design. Our stress analysis provides a more accurate assessment of protection against excessive yielding with consideration of large deflection.
Our analysis model simulates the configuration of the wellhead and casing system with appropriate components, gap spacing between components, soil interaction, cement levels and all associated loads.
Extensive simulation of field conditions
Analysis is performed with applied loads varying over the full range of the fatigue load to determine the reacted stresses at critical locations. The fatigue damages of the critical locations are estimated by the reacted stresses, stress concentration factors and S-N curves (alternating stress versus number of cycles to failure).
Our simulations cover the loads imposed by the environment – including wave and current, vessel motion and riser tension. Through this exhaustive process, we take every possible opportunity to improve our product designs – reducing risk and cost for our customers, and increasing their productivity.
Designed for the

Delivering the
best performanceReliable and efficient operation
The seal integrity and robustness of our VetcoGray connectors make them the most trusted and technologically advanced in any application.
Quick, accurate stabbing and virtual elimination of cross threading during initial engagement are ensured by the combination of the thread form and the tapered connector profile. A resilient seal in our threaded connectors ensures a high-pressure seal with optimal torque for increased operational safety and makeup reliability.
For drilling applications that require non-rotation, reusable, mechanical connectors, the Squnch Joint® product line has become the choice of operators worldwide.
Tailored to specific application needs
We offer a complete system approach. Working together with our customers, we establish and design to precise specifications for each application, pipe size, coating, handling, circulation and installation. The net result is a highly reliable product line that optimizes the complete drilling operation.
