Data Sheet and User Manual contain the specifications, the rules of operation, and an operating-principle description for БПИ switched-mode power supplies ("the Units"), as well as information on its ac-ceptance, packaging, and the Manufacturer's warranty.

1 INTENDED USE

1.1 The Units are designed to convert 220 V mains voltage into stabilized DC output voltage. The Units are designed for supplying power to industrial automation devices, to process controls, to instru-mentation, to electromagnetic drives, to fans, to programmable con-trollers, and to other DC devices.

1.2 The Units have a single output channel galvanically isolated from the mains voltage. They can be manufactured to have custom specifications and operating parameters on request.

1.3 Each Unit has a built-in soft-start circuitry to limit the starting current, a power-supply filter that reduces the noise in the circuitry to the required limits and filters out such noises, and an input fuse trig-gered by the Unit's internal faults. Units are protected from overheat-ing, input overloads and short-circuits.

1.4 Multiple БПИ-125 Units can be connected in series or in par-allel without using additional external protection devices or current ad-justments.

1.5 The Units are designed for mounting on NS35\7.5 DIN rails or for wall mounting (БПИ-125, БПИ-250 support DIN-mounting only). Dimensions are given in Appendix A.

1.6 In terms of weather resistance, the Units are a Category 3.1 NF unit per GOST 15150, and Group C3 units per GOST 52931; how-ever, their operating temperature range is limited to -10...+55 °С. Any Unit except БПИ-250 models can be customized to operate at temperatures ranging from -40 to +55°C.

1.7 It is permissible to expose the Units to:

⎯ sinusoidal vibrations with a frequency of 5 to 25 Hz and an amplitude of up to 0.1 mm (Group L3 per GOST 52931);

⎯ DC and AC magnetic fields with a frequency of (50 ± 1) Hz and a strength of up to 400 A/m;

⎯ relative humidity of 30 to 80 % as long as the temperature is within the operating range.

1.8 The Units are repairable.

3

1.9 Unit-generated electromagnetic interference is in accordance with GOST R 51318.14.1-99 and GOST R 51320-99. The Units do not interfere with the operation of other devices that might be con-nected to, or be placed in the vicinity of, such Units.

1.10 In accordance with GOST 14254, the Units feature IP20 pro-tection.

1.11 The Manufacturer reserves the right to amend the technical documentation for this Product without prior notice as long as the functionality and purpose are not altered.

2 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

2.1 The Units are powered by 184...264 V 45...65 Hz AC mains or by 250...370 V DC mains (custom Units might be designed to op-erate in 95...132 V 45...65 Hz AC mains or by 130...190 V DC mains). БПИ-24 require 100...265 V AC mains.

2.2 Output voltage instability is 0.2 % for БПИ-30 and БПИ-60, 0.5 % for БПИ-24, БПИ-125 and БПИ-250.

2.3 Output-voltage temperature drift is ± 0.2 % per 10 °C at max. 2.4 Ripple (peak-to-peak) output voltage does not exceed 0.7 %

of the output voltage. 2.5 The output stage may operate even if unloaded. 2.6 The Units are protected against short-circuits (SC) and over-

loads; protection is triggered when the output current reaches 130 % of its maximum value and restores the unit operation automatically when overloads are eliminated. БПИ-24 limits the output power if the current exceeds 120 % of the maximum.

2.7 Thermal protection is triggered when the key stage is heated to 125 °C. As soon as it is cooled down to 70 °C, Units switch on au-tomatically.

2.8 БПИ-24, БПИ-30, БПИ-60 and БПИ-125 Units have natural cooling. БПИ-250 Units feature fans that are triggered automatically at unit temperatures over 60 °С.

2.9 Operating performance is reached within 1 s of power-up. 2.10 Each Units features output-voltage adjustment. Output volt-

ages are adjustable within ± 10 %, see Appendix A for the location of the adjustment resistor. Adjustments do not affect the protection-trig-gering current levels.

2.11 The front panel has an output-voltage LED. 2.12 Except БПИ-24, the Units feature an XT2 dry pin for signal-

ing the present or missing output voltage (1 A, 250 V).

5.4 The front panel contains terminal blocks for connecting the mains, the output voltage, the output-voltage relay pins, and the out-put-voltage LEDs.

6 SAFETY MEASURES

6.1 To be allowed to operate the Units, a person must receive a safety briefing for ≤ 1,000 V units and study this Data Sheet and User

Manual. 6.2 Safety briefing is absolutely mandatory for operating or ser-

vicing any Unit. 6.3 In terms of electric-shock protection, the Unit is a Class 01

unit per GOST 12.2.007.0-75. 6.4 Load the units only when powered off. 6.5 The Units must be connected to a ground circuit.

7 INSTALLATION

7.1 In the winter, the Unit must be unboxed in a heated room only; before unboxing, the box must be kept in such a heated room for at least 8 hours.

7.2 Before mounting, the Units must be visually inspected. Verify that conformity of markings and make sure there are no dents or other visible mechanical damage to the enclosure.

7.3 The installation location must be easily accessible for mount-ing, dismounting, and maintenance.

7.4 For the Units to cool down efficiently, air clearance must exist between the Unit and the enclosure walls and/or the adjacent devices. Figures 2 and 3 show minimum clearances.

7.5 The Units are mounted on DIN rails as shown in Figures 4 and 6, or on walls (except БПИ-125, БПИ-250) as shown in Figure 5.

7.6 External connections must be mounted in accordance with the wiring diagrams given in Appendix B.

7.7 Connect the Units by a screwdriver for 0.5x3.0 mm sockets. Screw-tightening torque must be equal to 0.5 N·m.

7.8 Before БПИ-125 Units are connected in parallel, use the ad-justment resistor to configure the same output voltage while unloaded (output-voltage difference must not exceed 50 mV).

8 GETTING STARTED

8.1 Before powering on a unit, make sure it is installed and mounted as specified in sections 6, 7 hereof. Study this Data Sheet and User Manual.

8.2 Supply mains voltage. When powered on, the output-voltage LED lights up to indicate normal output voltage. Units are now ready for use.

8.3 The unit-using company must periodically check up the con-dition of units at its own discretion.

Page 13: Version · 3 1.9 Unit-generated electromagnetic interference is in accordance with GOST R 51318.14.1-99 and GOST R 51320-99. The Units do not interfere with the operation of other

11

8.4 Checkups include:

⎯ visual inspection;

⎯ health check. 8.5 Visual inspection must verify:

⎯ the presence of markings;

⎯ no breakages in, or damage to, cables;

⎯ whether cables are connected reliably;

⎯ the absence of breakages in grounding wires;

⎯ whether the grounding is fixed firmly;

⎯ whether the unit is clean;

⎯ the absence of dents and apparent mechanical damage to the enclosure;

⎯ the integrity of channel-status LEDs. 8.6 Damaged or faulty units must not be used. 8.7 Units rejected by visual inspection are subject to no further

checkup. 8.8 For health check diagram, see Appendix B. The Unit to be

checked is connected to 220 V mains, and a voltmeter is used to measure the output voltage. If necessary, adjust the output voltage by means of a screwdriver, see Appendix A for the location of the adjust-ment resistor.
