Bythe1890stherehadbeenatremendousrisein amateur photography with the arrival of smaller formats andmoresimplecamerastouse.Thefamilyalbum wasborn,wherevisualfragmentsofdailylifewere collected and preserved. Thisexhibitionwillattempttoexplorethegenreof vernacularphotography.Submissionscanbefound, appropriated, reinterpretedortheproductof theartists own traditional made photographs.VernacularphotographyExample of vernacular photographyPostmortem photographyor memorialphotography as it is also knownwasacommon practiceinthe19thcentury.
