Procedure Statement

This procedure will explain how to install a Verizon Wireless VZAccess aircard.

Procedure Specifics

This device must be installed under an administrator account. Please call AgIT at

765.494.8333 or http://sharepoint.agriculture.purdue.edu/agit/default.aspx for

assistance.

Installing a Verizon Aircard

1. Insert the Verizon Aircard CD into the computer.

2. The Verizon Wireless VZAccess Manager should start up automatically.

3. Click on Install VZAccess Manager

4. A welcome screen will appear. Click Next.

5. Select the I agree with this software license agreement radio button and click

Next.

6. On the Choose Destination Location screen, click Next.

7. The next screen is the Start installation screen. Click Next to begin installingthe software.

8. The VZAccess Manager screen will show the progress of the softwareinstallation.

9. Once the installation is finished, the Installation Complete screen will appear.

Click Finish to complete the installation.

10. After finishing the installation, the VZAccess Manager – Welcome screenwill pop up. Click Next on this screen.

11. On the VZAccess Manager – Wi-Fi/WWAN Detection, select the Detect

both Wi-Fi an WWAN radio button and click Next.

12. The VZAccess Manager – Wi-Fi Detection screen will appear. Click Next.

13. Click Next on the VZAccess Manager – Select Wi-Fi Adapter screen.

14. Click Next on the VZAccess Manager –WWAN Device Detection screen.

15. On the VZAccess Manager – Connectivity Options screen that appears, select

the PC Card, EXpressCard or USB Modem radio button and click Next.

16. Insert the device into the USB port in the computer and click Next.

17. A Detecting Wireless Devices box will appear.

18. After the device has been detected, the VZAccess Manager – Install Modemscreen will appear. Click Next.

19. After finishing with the install modem screen, the VZAccess Manager

program will start-up.
