About UsThe Robert McLaughlin Gallery (RMG) is a vibrant, engaging public art museum located in Oshawa’s Civic Centre. The RMG is the largest gallery in Durham Region, and occupies an inspired 36,000 square foot building designed by architect Arthur Erickson.
Featuring a Permanent Collection of over 4,500 works of art, and seven galleries of diverse and changing contemporary and historical exhibitions, The RMG holds an important collection of modern Canadian abstraction and the largest holdings of works by Painters Eleven. The gallery also houses The Thomas Bouckley Collection, which represents archival photographic records of over 3,000 images of Oshawa and the region, connecting the community with local history.
A roster of dynamic public and educational programs, thriving volunteer program, gallery gift shop, inspiring event spaces, art archive and library, artist-in-residence lab, and art studio, comprise the gallery’s many rich and diversified assets.

Venue RentalsThe RMG offers rental facilities including a community meeting room, gallery space and reception area as well as the spectacular Arthur’s on the 4th, our dinning area, featuring a panoramic view.
Event spaces and meeting rooms are available to arts related groups, service clubs, and the business community, for meetings, receptions, weddings, cocktail parties and seminars.
The Gallery is also available for occasion photography. Contact us to book a space for yourwedding photos, family portraits, and other special occasions.

Arthur’s On the 4th
This is a multi-use space ideal for dinner, receptions, private events, corporate events, meetings, and weddings. The panoramic view offers a stunning view of Civic Centre and our public art.
Capacity: 60-99 Rental Rate: $750*
Isabel McLaughlin Gallery
This space is ideal for cocktail parties, corporate events, receptions and weddings.
Capacity: 250 Rental Rate: $1000*
