at great city, by
Italian standards:
Padua.

Piazzola sul Brenta—Padova
3
We turn right on Via Rolando,
4
and walk for a little less than 1km, up to the crossroad with Via Ticino; turning left and right, still on Via Ticino, 100
m and we turn right on the Ostiglia cycling lane running along a dismissed railway for 800 m . We leave the cycling
lane and pass under the old railway bridge, turning right, 200 m and we turn left, 300m and we shall be on the
River Brenta again.
5
We follow the river for 700 m then turn right into Via Argine Basso. On for 1,5 km and we are in Tremignon.
6
We follow the local road on the left for 900 m, then left for 500 m and we shall be on State Highway in the
locality of Vaccarino
7
We cross at the traffic light and take the street on the left, Via dei Savonarola which we shall follow for 650 m, and
leave it for a country lane, parallel to the main road, and in 3 km we shall be in Limena: a good restoration place,
since we will be a little short of half way to the end of stage.
8
Returning on the bridge over the canal we turn right on Via Bocche which leads us to the water regulation plant and at the
entrance to the Park of Punta Speron: a very beautiful park on the bank of the Brenta. We pass a level crossing to get to the
bank of the river we turn left and walk for 500 m up to the bridge over the Brenta. We are on the road on the opposite bank of
the river, and going left we will enjoy a full 8 km of wonderful parkland,
9
passing by Vigodarzere, where we underpass the railway before using the bridge that will take us into the city of
Padova,
10
having passed the bridge we can follow at left the signal of ST Anthony, or to continue straight on along
Via Ponte Vigodazere; we underpass the Venice-Turin Highway A4, the ring road and follow the cycling
lane next to Via Guido Reni,
11
then Via Tiziano Aspetti, the flyover Borgomagno
12
Via Codalunga, Piazza Mazzini, Via Tasso, Via Monte di Pietà, Piazza Duomo, Via San Gregorio Barbarigo, Via
Seminario, Via Marin, left into Via Cavalletto, and finally we shall be in the great Prato della Valle,
13
we shall cross the enormous lawn and take Via Beato Luca Belludi, 300 m more and we shall be in front of the Basilica of St Anthony.
