of fi re sources on the other hand reduce costs to a minimum. The fi re protection concept for shredding machines is used parallel to a conventional building fi re protection, but doesn’t replace it! It anticipates to the building fi re protection and protects your plant. Due to this fact a building fi re protection doesn’t have to be activated in any case of fi re.

SPARK DETECTION: AUTOMATIC EXTINCTION WITHIN SECONDS

Differently positioned detectors early locate small fi re or ignition sources at materials during the shredding proccess and eliminate them due to a specifi cally triggered extinguishing device within seconds. The shredding process can be continued unaffected during an extinction.

The detection of sparks, fl ames and hot particles is effected by daylight-insensitive detectors that measure the energy content of particles via infrared radiation. Depending on application and ignition temperature of shredded materials the detectors are applied at a detection temperature between 250 °C and 400 °C. For paper shredding applications an existing dust exhaust

can additionaly be protected with this technology. Any ignition sources or sparks in the exhausted dust are detected and eliminated by the system, as also ignition sparks that come up at the shredding process. Thus hazard sources from dust exhaust can be reduced and the danger of fi re can be minimized at the whole facility.
