    What is VarsityScouting?

Varsity Scouting is a program ofthe Boy Scouts of America for

young men ages 14 through 17

    (14 & 15 in LDS Teams). Packed

    with opportunities for adventure,

    leadership, personal growth, and

    service, the Varsity Scout program

    holds special appeal for older

Scouts. It is also flexible enough to

    allow chartered organizations to

design the program to effectivelymesh Scoutings principles and

values with the objectives of the

    chartered organizations.

    Varsity Scouts are distinguished on

their uniform from Boy Scouts by

    wearing the blaze (orange)

    epaulettes and the Varsity strip

above the Boy Scouts of America

strip above the right shirt pocket.

    Welcome to Varsity Scouting

How does Varsity differfrom Boy Scouts?

In a number of ways Varsity Scoutingis like Boy Scouting. Varsity Scoutscan, and should, continue to work onrank advancements to eventuallycomplete their Eagle.

In addition to Boy Scout ranks, the

Varsity program allows the Scout to

    work on recognitions specifically

    designed for Varsity Scouts. These

    recognitions include:

Instead of being called a Troop, the

Managers for each of the 5 fields of

    emphasis.

    Additionally, while Boy Scouting

    focuses on monthly themes for

    meetings and activities; Varsity Scouts

utilize a program feature for 3 months

and focus on the 5 fields of emphasis

    in planning and executing their

    meetings and activities.
