3.Relacion con el context fisico en el que se implanta

The basic concept of the project is based on the morphology of landscape architecture from Asia, the organic shape mirrors the Chinese landscape with its mountains, rivers and hills and at the same time its scale-like surface recalls a dragon,the main goal was to obtain a volume that can be spotted easily in the area of the exhibition (the curved building stands out clearly and acts as a magnet to visitors due to its innovative architecture),while seeking to adapt to the morphology of the city surroundings and its topography.

The Expo 2015 is situated in the north-western part of Milan,managing to become one of the most visited attraction of the city,through the pavilions presented in the Expo,the people cand see the diversity and differences between nations but in the same time perceiving them as a single ensemble.Vanke Pavilion is one of three pavilions belonging to China,together with China’s main pavilion’Land of Hope,Food for Life’ and and China’s Corporate United Pavilion ‘Seeds of China’ is creating an architectural parcourse through the whole exhibition.

Situated on the southeast edge of the Lake Arena, the 800-square meter pavilion appears to rise from the east, forming a dynamic, vertical landscape, creating the impression of a geomorphological formation that was born in an long gone era, representing an extension of the urban environment; the musicality of its proportions, its sinuous geometry and the fluid movement between the inner and outer volume, create a journey through space and time. In the same time the dynamic structure is meant to illustrate the evolution and perseverance of the Chinese people, the merger between internal and external space creates a controversial spatial relationship between the pavilion and the public spaces that surround it.

In the close proximity to the construction of Liebeskind is 'Copagri Dome ‘ pavilion realized by Miralles Tagliabue EMBT, 'The Tree of Life' and Palazzo Italia;assembled together they manage to create one of the most attractive area of the Expo 2015.The dynamic of the pavilions,the exterior space generated by their interaction and the fact that the square is situated near the water point are making a huge impact on this area morphology,creating a point of interest for both the exhibition space and the urban area of the city.
