Metal Seated Ball Valves

Metal seated ball valves were introduced to address short comings of their soft seated counterparts.

MSBV’s incorporate a metal-to-metal seal between the seat and ball of the valve assembly.

Thermoplastic seals are usually recommended for clean service.

In MSBV’s the design of the seats and coatings are key determinates for valve to be used in abrasive, severe service.

Metal Sealing Technology

Zero-leakage metal area contact seal is difficult to achieve with a brand new valve

• Seat loading forces are distributed across a wider area • Wider seal areas create bigger potential leak paths

Zero-leakage metal area contact seal is much more difficult to maintain after installation & use BAT™ requires:

• Precision alignment of ball & seat • Precision sealing surface finish (for extended periods) • Restrict particles from getting between sealing surfaces

designs that are suitable for on-off utility services.
