STOP VALVES

6165, 6175 and 6170 stopvalves are specially designedfor application on split airconditioners.They can be used withrefrigerant fluids CFC, HCFCand HFC.

The very compact design ofthese brass valves allowsminimum dimensional sizes andthe fixing flange complies withcurrent market requirements.Valves 6170 and 6175 must becompleted with valve core8394/A or 8394/B and cap andgasket type 8392/A, to beordered separately.

The materials used for the mainparts are:• ST-UNI EN 12165 - CW 617N

hot-forged brass for thebody;

• TN-UNI EN 12164 - CW 614Nbrass for spindle and cap;

• chloroprene rubber (CR) forouter seal gaskets.

Only for the 6170 group ofvalves, aramidic andchloroprene gaskets for thegland seals.

Castel diaphragm valves areparticularly suitable for use onrefrigerating systems operatingwith refrigerant fluids CFC,HCFC and HFC.

Diaphragm valves don’t havegland seal. External sealing isensured by thin metal discs(diaphragms) ensuring hermeticsealing of the area throughwhich the fluid flows.

hot-forged brass for the bodyand the cap;

• nylon for the seat sealinggasket;

• harmonic steel for the spring.

ROTALOCK VALVES

Castel Rotalock valves can beused for refrigerating systemsoperating with refrigerant fluidsCFC, HCFC and HFC.

Rotalock valves can bemounted with 7910 and 7990gaskets, and ensure fastinstallation and safe sealing.Tightness is assured by thetorque of the ring on thecoupling. Before tightening it ispossible to turn the valve inevery direction. All Rotalockvalves have an additional maleconnection which can beexcluded by the back sealing of

Capped valves can be mountedin any point of the refrigeratingsystem using refrigerant fluidsCFC, HCFC and HFC.

Capped valves consist of twomain parts: the body and thespindle assembly.

GLOBE VALVES

Globe valves can be used onrefrigerating systems in order tointercept the refrigerant fluidsCFC, HCFC and HFC.

Globe valves are manufacturedin two basic types: 6510 withstraight connections and 6530with angle connections.Valves 6520, which havestraight connections, aresupplied with flanges. In thisapplication, copper pipe issoldered on a brass bush andnot directly on the valve.Globe valves have large orificesto keep the pressure drop to aminimum. On the top of thecaps there is a square seat,fitting it on the spindle it ispossible to use the cap as anoperating wrench.

The materials used for the mainparts are:• ST-UNI EN 12165 - CW 617N

hot-forged brass for body,plug and cap;

• especially treated steel forspindle;

• aramidic and chloroprenegaskets for gland seal;

• chloroprene rubber (CR) forouter seal gaskets;

BALL VALVES

6590 ball valves have beenexclusively designed andmanufactured for refrigeratingsystems operating withrefrigerant fluids CFC, HCFCand HFC.

The valve design ensures theinternal equilibrium of pressureswhen the valve is closed,permits the bi-directional flowof the refrigerant and,consequently, the assembly onthe plant without taking intoaccount the direction of therefrigerant.The assembling of the spindle

from the inside prevents anyrisk of explosion.The opening and closing of thevalve is realised by turning thespindle one fourth of a turn. A standstill in turning realiseseither a full opening or a fullclosing, moreover the arrowprinted on the spindle headshows the flow direction.Electric welding of the bodiesand “O ring“ assembled on thespindle prevent leaks.

These valves are normallymounted on the body of therefrigerating compressor, onboth suction and dischargesides. They can be used withrefrigerant fluids CFC, HCFCand HFC.

Compressor valves have athreaded connection that canbe used both as charging orgauge connection. Thecharging connection is cut offby the back-seating of thespindle. The compressor valvesare oval flanged with SAE-FLARE connection to fit copperpipes through a suitable nut.
