M inet Infant Choir sings again!
The Choir have been really busy this term with rehearsing and performing their Christmas
carols. They worked fantastically as a team to sing beautifully to the residents at Triscott House and to the public at Sainsburys. The children really put a smile on everyone’s faces and definitely spread the Christmas cheer to all that listened. Thank you to all of the residents at Triscott House for being such a lovely, welcoming audience! Another big thank you to friends and family for supporting and encouraging our Choir at Sainsburys! We hope to see you all again soon, in the New Year.
Christmas Performances
Our Year 2 children put on an excellent performance for us last week! They took us on a beautiful adventure to show us how the Children of the World celebrate Christmas. The Year 2 children demonstrated many entertaining talents; from acting, singing and dancing. The children’s voices were incredible and it was clear that they were dedicated to delivering a great show. Their
costumes looked fantastic and it was noticeable from the smiles on their faces that every child enjoyed taking part.
On Friday 15th December, Reception welcomed their family and friends to watch their wonderful performance of ‘Christmas Counts’. Every child tried their best throughout this half term, whether they were acting, dancing or singing and together performed fantastically on the day.

Our Rights Respecting News - Human Rights Day 2017
As part of our learning about Children’s Rights, we took part in Human Rights Day on
Thursday 7th December.
Article 42: You have the right to know your rights! Adults
should know about these rights and help you learn about
them, too.
The morning started with an assembly, which the Ambassadors helped to deliver and then children in their own classrooms learnt about Rights and why they are important. Some children in Year 2 wrote and sang their own Rights songs and in Year 1 they made colourful posters. In Reception the children considered the difference between a right and a want.
What a wonderful time we all had at our annual
Winter Fayre. Thank you to everyone who got involved and we hope you had as much fun as we did!
A special thank you goes to our raffle prize sponsors;
Wilko, Botwell Leisure Centre and Airport Bowl
Thank you so much for supporting your local school– the gifts were very much appreciated!
This half term as part of our Religious Education curriculum all Year One children visited our local
Church, St Anselm’s. The children met the Church
Vicar, Father Geoffrey, who is also our school
governor.
Father Geoffrey showed the children around the
church pointing out the key features of the building
and read them the Christmas story.
Our children, as always, represented our school
positively. Father Geoffrey sent the school an email
after the visit and he had this to say, “Their behaviour
was a credit to themselves and the school.”
KS1 and Reception had an exciting start to the Christmas season with a performance of The Selfish Giant by Image Theatre Company. First, the children were taught the songs and actions by Dimitri, Joe and Rose, and then after a short break, watched the show. It was lots of fun and everyone enjoyed singing the songs and taking part in a real theatre production.
