Thermosun is a new type of solar water heater which adopts advanced heat pipe and twin-glass solar tube Technology. The highly efficient and reliable vacuum tube with the special selective coating absorbs the solar energy and converts it into heat. The heat pipe inside transfers the heat rapidly through the condenser to the domestic water.
The system includes a high pressure storage tank, which features no evaporation losses as compared to a low pressure model.The tank consists of an inner shell made of stainless steel, 55mm CFC free polyurethane foam insulation (Thermal transfer rate: 0.022W/mK)
The system has the following advantages:
• Closed loop system meaning no direct contact between condenser and domestic water, implying: a) No scaling problems inside the vacuum tubes b) If need arises, a tube can be replaced without emptying the tank.
• No sealing rubber is needed and hence no leaking problems • Easy installation of single or multiple units• Low maintenance• Magnesium anode for corrosion protection

TECHNOLOGY OF THE HEAT PIPE
• Due to its thermo-physical properties, heat transfer rate in the heat pipe could be thousands of times greater than that of the best solid heat conductors of the same dimensions.• When heated above 25OC, the special fluid inside the heat pipe vaporises. • The vapour rapidly rises to the top of the heat pipe transferring heat.• As the heat is transferred to the domestic water at the condenser, the vapour condenses to form a liquid and returns to the bottom of the heat pipe to once again repeat the process.• Each heat pipe is tested for heat transfer performance and exposed to 250OC temperatures prior to being approved for use.• Material selection and strict quality control ensure long life expectancy of the heat pipe.

TECHNOLOGY OF VACUUM TUBE
• Evacuated tubes absorb solar energy and convert it into heat. • Each evacuated tube consists of two glass tubes made from extremely strong borosilicate glass.• The outer tube is transparent allowing light rays to pass through with minimal reflection.• The inner tube is coated with a special selective coating (Al-N/Al) which features excellent solar radiation absorption and minimal reflection properties.• The evacuation between the glasses forms a
vacuum, which is an important factor in the performance of the evacuated tubes, resulting
in an almost total elimination of convection and conduction.
