WORKSHOP on PERIHERAL NERVE IMAGING:DIAGNOSTIC - THERAPEUTIC INTEGRATIONand ORGANIZATION

  • AIM OF THE WORKSHOP

    FACULTY

The role of US in peripheral nerve imaging giving basic instructions on how to visualize the main neural structures. There will be a theoretical session, a live demo and ‘hands on’ session with a tutor.

Peripheral neural structures are not easy to visualize due to small dimensions and coarse variability; nevertheless, by means of the new High frequency probes it’s possible to evaluate structures which were almost invisible in the past.

Because of the growing interest of different medical fields (neuro-logist, neurophysiologist, ortho-pedics, traumatologist, pain thera-pist) this workshop aims at invol-ving the different imaging experts in this diagnostic area (radiologist, US specialists). Formation of multidisciplinary teams (clinical/ imaging) will give better results.

Imaging in fact allows the evalua-tion of many different aspects of the region studied, besides the

specific clinical area of interest, and allows for integration with other diagnostic methods facilita-ting diagnosis and therapeutic choice precision.

A part from the technical aspects of peripheral nerve study, this course purpose is to compare the different planning\organization criteria which could help the inter-disciplinary relationship between the clinician and the radiologist.

    SIMULATION IN EDUCATION

The Center has 3 high-fidelity simulation rooms, 2 for medium and low-fidelity simulation, 4 multifunction rooms, 3 control rooms, 1 physiotherapy laboratory and a wet lab entirely set up and equipped with all the technologies and equipment needed for educational activities in the medical-surgical field and for the study of anatomy. There are also 3 distinct plenary rooms with capacities ranging from 25 to 45 seats and an Auditorium that can comfortably seat from 150 to 240 people, as well as various smaller rooms for debriefings and meetings. All simulation rooms, wet lab, plenary rooms and the Auditorium are equipped with modern audio-video systems and may be connected to each other, to ensure the maximum interactivity between the various work environments.
