Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) is the technology of indoor and
vehicular environmental comfort.
Its goal is to provide thermal comfort and acceptable indoor air quality.
HVAC system design is a sub discipline of mechanical engineering, based on the
principles of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
"Refrigeration" is sometimes added to the field's abbreviation, as HVAC&R or HVAC
or "ventilation" is dropped, as in HACR
A passing exercise (a PASSEX in U.S. Navy terminology) is an exercise done
between two navies to ensure that the navies are able to communicate and
cooperate in times of waror humanitarian relief.
Common drills include flashing light drills, semaphore drills, and flag hoist drills.
In modern times, navies within a very close alliance may include electronic and
digital cooperation including using electronic communications and target
acquisition. Some exercises between the French and US navies (particularly in
support of the war in Afghanistan) have included carrier-based fighter-bombers
"touching down" (landing then taking off) on each other's carriers in order to
ensure interoperability.
While the official reason of a PASSEX is to practice cooperation, various unofficial
reasons might be to "show the flag" (show the power of a nation through a public
display of naval power) or other political or diplomatic reasons.

These Regulations are amended from time to time to incorporate the changes in the regulatory framework and published through amendment notifications.
Within the contours of the Regulations, Reserve Bank of India also issues directions to Authorised Persons under Section 11 of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999.
These directions lay down the modalities as to how the foreign exchange business has to be conducted by the Authorised Persons with their customers/constituents with a view to implementing the regulations framed.

GUJARAT GOVT LAUNCHES SOLAR SCHEME, SURYASHAKTI KISAN YOJNA
This pilot project, estimated to cost Rs 870 crore,
will cover 12,400 cultivators and will be launched from July 2.
Under Suryashakti Kisan Yojna (SKY), grid-connected solar panels will be provided to over 12,000 cultivators who have already taken regular electricity connections for irrigation purpose.
This is a revolutionary step after Jyoti Gram Yojna that brought 24 x 7 electricity in the villages.
The scheme aims to help farmers in 25 villages with more than 1,000 population each in
111 Aspirational Districts identified in consultation with Ministry of Rural Development
as per directions of NITI Ayog
.The Farm science centers called Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) will coordinate and
implement the programme. As many as 111 officers have also been made in-charge of one
district each for overall coordination and field level monitoring
These officers have been selected from subordinate/attached/autonomous
organizations/PSUs etc of Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.
Jyotigram Yojana is an initiative of the Government of Gujarat to ensure availability of
24-hour three phase quality power supply to rural areas of the state and to supply
power to farmers residing in scattered farm houses through feeders having specially
designed transformers.
The scheme was dedicated to the nation by President A. P. J. Abdul Kalam in 2006.

RESERVE BANK OF INDIA AMENDS GOLD MONETISATION SCHEME TO MAKE IT MORE ATTRACTIVE
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) made changes in the Gold Monetisation Scheme (GMS) to
make it more attractive. The revamping of the scheme is aimed at enabling people to open a hassle-free gold
deposit account. The short-term deposits should be treated as bank's on-balance sheet liability. These
deposits will be made with the designated banks for a short period of 1-3 years (with a facility of rollover).
NOBEL LAUREATE SATYARTHI LAUNCHES APP NAMED REUNITE TO TRACK MISSING KIDS
Nobel Peace Prize recipientKailash Satyarthi, along with union minister Suresh Prabhu, launched a mobile application called 'ReUnite' that tracks missing or abandoned kids.
The app is a collaboration between Bachpan Bachao Andolan led by Kailash Satyarthi and IT major Capgemini.
The app will be linked with the Delhi Police's database of missing children.
The app will use Amazon Web Services based on face recognition technology to match the photographs of missing children with a database to give result after face matching.
Gold Monetization Scheme (GMS) refers to a process wherein a depositor deposits
gold (say jewellery, coin, etc.) with a bank which is then lent by the bank to its
borrowers (say jewellery makers), after melting into gold bars. This is akin to a
normal banking operation (like a savings bank account), but carried out in terms of
gold instead of in rupee.
GMS allows the depositors of gold to earn tax free market determined interest income
(denominated in gold but recoverable either in gold or in rupee [mandatorily in rupee
if it is deposited for a medium or long term]) from the pure gold they deposit with
banks in their “Gold Savings Accounts” and permits the jewelers to obtain their raw
material -gold bars created from the melting of the gold deposited with the banks- as
loans in their “Metal account”. In addition, Banks / other dealers would also be able
to monetize their gold.
