MEMORIES OF AKAMATSU

This place used to be the weekend retreat for families during summer days. Children would enjoy swimming in the pleasant, clean waters of the Uwa sea. From the Nozoki-‐iwa the young and brave would dive into the sea and feel life pumping through their veins. Parents would eat, drink and chat while gazing in the blue summer sky. Famous actresses would visit the fancy restaurant with a rich fresh fish selecQon from the local sea. The “sea swing” offered a splendid view with a thrill factor.

“Above your head the sky, below your feet the sea, freedom in your heart.”

Now, only shadows of this past remain in the Akamatsu Amusement Park. The spooky, but sQll charming atmosphere of abandoned Japan is present and offers a place of inspiraQon for arQsts and creaQves. Only the majesQc Nozoki-‐iwa stands unmoved by all of these changes, as it stood here since centuries.
