Uta Heinecke was born in 1973 in Haldensleben, East Germany.
Fleeing East Germany in 1984, Uta Heinecke spent four years
living in Budapest. After shefinished secondary school in Hamburg,
Germany, she moved to Austria. She studied painting andgraphic arts
at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, master school of Gunter
Damisch, andearned a doctorate (PhD) in civil engineering at the
Vienna University of Technology.
Searching for new ventures, for her own roots, and driven by an
inner restlessness, she goes onlong journeys - both in the physical
world and in her mind. The quest for her inner and outerfreedom, as
well as traveling have become the driving forces behind and the
subject of her artand her life.
She lives as a professional painter and printmaker in Vienna,
Mdling (Austria) and Pzmndfalu(Hungary).
Uta Heinecke is member of the artist group MAM, Budapest; the
Hungarian Artists AssociationMAOE and the artist group FLUSS,
Berlin.
Since 2003, she operates the i.Ku Association, Association of
Interdisciplinary and InternationalCultural Exchange, and since
2007, the gallery "Kellergalerie art.ig" in Vienna.
