eDream Snowfall Effect is a extension for Magento that add a subtle snow effect to your store and is very simple to setup. You can pass a class in the collection option and the snow will be collected on top of all the elements selected.

You can easily display falling snow in an appealing fashion on your Magento shop during the winter holidays or for any other reason.

Now it’s that time of year again, Christmas is only a few short weeks away and why not share some festive cheer with your visitors. Our extension is the perfect goodie for Christmas time.

Adding an animation effect of falling snow is a quick and easy way to keep your site looking current during the holidays for your store customers.

Installing extension using Magento Connect

Step1. Extract the .tgz file from the zip file you have downloaded from our shop.

Step2. In case you use Magento Compilation feature, please open menu System > Tools > Compilation.

In Compilation page, press Disable button.

Step3. Refer to http://www.domain.com/downloader/. (‘domain’ - URL where Magento is installed),

then introduce username and password to connect. In case you are already connected to the Magento

administration panel select: System > Magento Connect > Magento Connect Manager.

Step4. Press button BROWSE and select the file Edream_Snowfall_Effect- 1.0.x.tgz from the location

where it was extracted from .zip archive, then continue using the button UPLOAD.

Step5. Wait until the upload and install processes are completed. Then press button REFRESH that will

appear on the bottom of the page under the command line after the successful installation of the

extension.

Step6. Go to www.domain.com/admin or press “Return to Admin” from the upper part of the page. If

you are already connected to the administration panel of Magento please log out and login again. Now

refresh Magento Cache.

Installing extension via FTP client

Step1. After you download the extension edream_snowfall.zip, extract the .tgz file from the zip file you

have downloaded from our shop.

Step2. Extract all files from Edream_Snowfall_Effect-1.0.x.tgz, using your favorite extraction program

(WinRAR, 7Zip, etc).

Using your FTP client, drag all of the files onto the store root of the Magento instance. In this case we

use FileZilla software.

Refresh Magento Cache

- Go to System ->> Cache Management

- Click on the “Flush Cache Storage” button

OR

Using your FTP client or cPanel File Manager go to Magento root directory and delete all files inside

var/cache directory. Do NOT delete var/cache folder. When you refresh your Magento Cache , you

should be able to see all the changes you have made.

Upgrading extension

It is recommended to always have the latest version of the extension. Upgrade using Magento Connect.

Step1. Log in to your administrator backend browse to System > Magento Connect > Magento Connect

Manager.

Step2. Hit the button Check for Upgrades.

After the page refreshes, scroll down to the eDream Snowfall Effect extension, it’ll be marked yellow in

case there’s a new upgrade available.

Step3. Select the “Upgrade to ...” latest stable version in the dropdown next to the extension. Click on

‘Commit Changes’ button and the extension has been upgraded to the latest version.

Uninstalling extension

Step1. Log in to your administrator backend browse to System > Magento Connect > Magento Connect

Manager.

Step2. Scroll down to the eDream Snowfall Effect extension and select ‘Uninstall’ button from the

dropdown box.

Step 3. Hit the Commit Changes button.

Alternatively, prevent Magento from loading the extension by changing the active tag from “true”

*It is not recommended to alter or delete database tables.

General Information Snowfall Settings > Settings

Enabled Snowfall – ofers the possibility to activate or deactivate the extension at global level. If

option will be set up with No – all defined values will be stopped and the extension will not be

uploaded into the system;

Snow Collector – If you want to Collecting Snow just enter the desired item class name and the

snow will collect on top of all the elements matched. Element can be either a class or id or a list;

flakeCount – Insert the flakes number. Attention: too many flakes can affect on performance;

flakeColor – Color of snowflake. This function will be disabled automatically if if the image field

is set;

flakeIndex – Specifies the stack order of snoflakes. An element with greater stack order is

always in front of an element with a lower stack order;

minSize / maxSize – Specifies the minimum and maximum size of snowflake;

minSpeed / maxSpeed - Setting the minimum and maximum speed of the snow;

newOn - Frequency in ms of appearing of new snowflake. Be careful with newOn parameter

since that frequently appearing of new snowflake can affect on performance.

roundFlakes - Makes the snowflakes rounded if the browser supports it;

shadowFlakes - Gives the snowflakes a shadow supports it if the browser;

Enable Snowflake Image – activate or deactivate snowflake;

Snowflake Image – upload snowflake image;

EDREAM SNOWFALL EFFECT IS NOT DISPLAYED

Check in System > Configuration > Snowfall Settings if option Enabled Snowfall is YES;

Check in System > Configuration > Snowfall Settings if option Enabled jQuery is YES.

ATENTION in case you use other extensions besides eDream Snowfall, there is a possibility for

them also, to use jQuery libraries, which will lead to an inevitable conflict. In this case you can

set up Enable jQuery to No;

I'M GETTING A 404 ERROR

You need to Log Out from admin and Login again to refresh access control system in admin
