Background
After the spread of Covid19 pandemic in India, 21 day lockdown was declared by the Govt. of India,
Initially the testing for the coronavirus was taking place at more than 200 labs across the country. While
most of these labs were supported by government, there were also around 50 private testing labs. Later
on it was proposed, by the Government of India, to start conducting rapid antibody diagnostic test which
will be faster and in larger numbers.
In order to monitor the actual data about the details of people who underwent RPT and RT-PCR tests, by
the GOI and ICMR, it was decided by the GOI that NIC will develop software for this purpose.
This software consists of two components. The first component is a mobile app, which will be used by
the staff of the collection centers, entrusted with performing these tests. The second component of this
software is this web application, which helps in creating the master data about these collection centers.
The Collection centers data will be updated by the District collectors, having district level access. For this
purpose LDAP user e-mails of District collectors have been assigned with roles to access this web
application. In addition, State Informatics Officers, have also been assigned with State Level roles, to
access this web application. This web application has been hosted over at https://covid19cc.nic.in
