6 Control panelThe cooking surface is divided into fourcooking zones. In each cooking zone underthe glass ceramic is an induction heating el-

ement, the middle of each one being markedwith a cross on the glass ceramic surface.Cookware can be placed on any of the cook-ing zones. But the cross must be completelycovered by the cookware. The bottom of thecookware must be from 125 - 210 mm in di-ameter.

Cooking over two cooking zones

Large cookware can be heated with twocooking zones simultaneously. Either the twocooking zones on the left-hand side or on theright-hand side of the cooking surface aresuitable for this.1. Place cookware centrally on the two

zones. The cookware must cover at least twocrosses.

2. Set the same heat setting for the twocooking zones (max. setting 8).

With different cookware there can be dif-ferences in the heat distribution. Goodcooking results can be achieved withcookware with thick, flat bottoms.

Power Management

The cooking zones of the cooking surfacehave a maximum power. The maximum power is reached when theheat setting 8 has been set for all cookingzones. Two cooking zones generate a pair (see fig-ure) and therefore, the power managementshares the maximum available power be-tween these cooking zones.

When the power function is selected for onecooking zone, the power managementmakes the additional power for this cookingzone available by reducing the power of thecorresponding other cooking zone.Example: the heat setting 8 is selected onone cooking zone. The power function isswitched on for the corresponding cookingzone. The power function is carried out butthe heat setting 8 of one of the cooking zonesand the power function for the other cookingzone of the pair exceed the maximum powerfor both at the same time. For this purpose, the power management reduces the powerof the cooking zone that switched on firstfrom 8 to example 5 and the display of thiscooking zone changes between 8 and 5 andthen stays at the current possible maximum5. (If the display changes between 8 and 5 or8 and 3 or another value depends on the typeof appliance and the size of the cookingzone.).

Tips on cooking and fryingInformation about acrylamidesAccording to the latest scientific re-search, intensive browning of food, es-pecially in products containing starch,

may present a health risk due to acryla-mide. Therefore we recommend cook-ing at low temperatures and not brown-ing foods too much.

* Cookware for induction cooking zones islabelled as suitable by the manufacturer.

Suitability testCookware is suitable for induction cooking, if…• ... a little water on an induction cooking

zone set to the highest heat setting is heat-ed within a short time.

• ... a magnet sticks to the bottom of thecookware.

Certain cookware can make noiseswhen being used on induction cookingzones. These noises are not a fault in theappliance and do not affect operation inany way.

Bottom of the cookwareThe bottom of the cookware should be asthick and level as possible.

Pan sizeInduction cooking zones adapt automaticallyto the size of the bottom of the cookware upto a certain point. However the magnetic partof the bottom of the cookware must have aminimum diameter depending on the size ofthe cooking zone. Cookware with a bottomwith a diameter of less than 12cm is not suit-able.

Tips on energy saving

Place cookware on the cooking zonebefore it is switched on.
